  General Comment:In an interview with The Australian, lead singer Adam Levine explained that he wrote this about his frustration at the state of politics and the US role in the war in Iraq. Levine began writing the track a few years earlier about a failed relationship, which is a common theme in Levine's writing. But revisiting the song for this It Won't Be Soon Before Long, he recognized a whole new dimension to the track and made the song more political. Said Levine: "There is so much going on in America at the moment. I hope we (the US) can dig ourselves out of this hole. There's a bunch of confusion going on in the world.''
  
  
  This song rose from #64 to #1 on the US chart in 1 week (May 12, 2007), breaking the record for the biggest leap to #1 in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing the 52-1 leap of Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" in October 2002. The record was broken by T.I.'s "Whatever You Like," when on the Billboard magazine issue dated September 6, 2008 it jumped from #71 to #1.   It Won't Be Soon Before Long was the most downloaded album on iTunes in 2007. Amy Winehouse's Back To Black was second and Kanye West's Graduation third. (thanks, Bertrand - Paris, France)

  General Comment:he's talking to his ex-girlfriend, 'pleasure that made you cry'
  so she's found out about the cheating but doesn't want to hear about it because of this he can't bring the pieces together to make the relationship work again, so, resenting that she doesn't care enough to talk about what happened he wonders if he really did care about her at all, considering he cheated.
  
  The fact that he wants validation for his actions in the first place means he regrets it after all so the only way he can move on from the pain is to walk away. angrily. tut tut!
  
  The bridge parts suggest to me that they might be quotes from arguments, I don't know who is saying what and what bit, but I think 'give me something to believe in..' is probably the singer because it sounds truthful and pained.
  
  I do find the lyrics a bit rough and tough on the ex, but then again he's expressing something quite ugly isn't he? Love the music though, it's so good!

  General Comment:hmm sounds to me like he's a repeat offender "i've been here before, one day i'll wake up and it won't hurt
  anymore" like this is just one more relationship and again he cheated i think he just feels bad that
  he's hurt her, but not in a please forgive me kind of way...just one more superficial relationship to him
  she's not at too innocent either if he doesn't beleive in her, they both know that this relationship is just
  for fun....just my take on it

  This song made me realise my date was full of shit & a big time player. I could get rid of him before getting too involved.

  General Comment:One thing nobody mentions is that he's hungover at the beginning of the song. Wake up with blood shot eyes struggle to memorize..." This song is about a drunken hookup with a girl that was not his gf, but he sort of cared about. He feels so good being bad because it was a good hookup, but a hookup nonetheless. Like when a person hooks up with a friend, you care about them, but not the same way you do a gf. She's pissed off when he doesn't come through as a bf, but her expectations should have beern lower, which is why he doesn't give a fuck. He wants to sort of care, but emotionally it was a throwaway thing for him so he feels a little irritated with himself and her reaction, but a little irritated at best, as opposed to genuinely anything.
