I really don't want to believe it myself but the anal sex theory makes a lot of sense. "It's the dirtiest clean I know" "Take it slow, Take it easy on me"... It kinda sounds like it's her first time doing it!

I think it's also possible her referencing the moon may or may not be about her menses... Just throwing it out there. It could be sex during one's period. Or maybe like every woman, she dreads her period, the low point in her cycle [she wants it slow/longer to reach the low point?]. Menstrual cycles are all about hormones and changes after all. Similarly, she wants to ease into the relationship with her new man without falling too hard...

hey, i'd love to be in Parliament. There's some funk you could shake your moon to.

But yeah, I'm fully convinced this is not about anal sex. I can see how it's dirty, but not how someone might consider it a "dirtiest clean." Sex is never clean, particularly when it involves lots of sweat, spit, lube, and the ol' pooper.

couple of other lines that preclude anal sex:

- "heart on my sleeve"
- "Shed some light on me please"
- "The song's out of key again"
- "so changable and/ such a lovable lamb to me"

What these lines tell is of a primarily emotional content. I tend to think this song is about a meaningful but sometimes difficult relationship. The dirty clean to me seems to be a stable relationship bought by a somewhat uncomfortable level of compromise. They're both deeply invested, so she needs him to take it slow and easy.

this song is not about anal sex. i mean the only line that would suggest that is the dirtiest clean line, but this whole, "take it slow, take it easy on me" is about a relationship and her emotions, maybe she's had really crappy relationships and doesn't want to rush in to the next one? when a person is emotional broken its hard to get back on the horse, so she doesnt want to ride the wild stallion(no pun intended) right after getting bucked off what she thought was a trained horse and she really likes horses (sorry about the stupid horse metaphor)

I highly doubt this song is about anal sex,
and I agree with tomorrow, tomorrow.
It's about her being in a relationship with a moody guy, so she takes her stuff and tries to leave on a postive note. She compares him to the moon because the moon has phases like he has moods
and she "checks the calender" to see what mood he is going to be in, I'm not too sure about the next part it sounds almost like abuse when she says take it easy on me and it's the dirtest clean I know.
