  My Interpretation:It's that situation when there's people who are just fools who don't believe in anything and follow the people who are the most manipulative and follow them because they have all this popularity, while the narrator is clearly suffering from this, maybe he was in love with this person and is attacking all her friends and themselves

  He's been decieved in "relationships" for so long he's fooled himself into thinking he can still find the right person when really he knows he can never trust a woman again.

  this could be both what he says and what she says, "suicide's easy" maybe she is saying he should commit suicide that would solve his problems
  but he's wondering what happened when the revolution in the 60's was really successful in allowing him to be with her.

  he's saying to others no need to do waht he did because there are people who aren't maniuplative and will love you no matter what, but the others are"fools because they got themselves in to that mess in the first place.

  General Comment:i think that "berlin" could be about capitulation of Berlin when the II war was ending... when Hitler killed himself. But what about 'lovers'?:-)
  anyway great song, always makes me smile. Everyone who knows me better, knew this song too;D and they love it!

  General Comment:i dont see this being a depressing song whatsoever. the lyrics are kind of like of strength. like suicides the easy way out... what happened to the idea of change, revolution, and MAKING something happen.
  i dont think its anything about a relationship really or drugs. maybe it is but i dont see it that way.

  General Comment:i kno this is probably wrong but this song seems like hes tryin to get off a drug. he wants to stop fightin with the band and just get along, but the addiction is making them angry. he fooled himself into thinking that doing this drug was living. and he needs help.

  General Comment:easy a girl who has split up with a guy and the guy is fighting endlessly for her to be back with him but she runs of every-time suicide is just much easier basically giving in and just running away and what happened to the revolution is asking what happened to them getting back together it just aint there
