    General Comment:Why do people always have to come in here and start shit? This isn't about how you feel towards musicians or even politics, but rather what you think the song is about. SONG MEANINGS YOU MORONS!
    On that note, let's try not to assume that we know what craziness goes on inside the mind of Tori. While some may THINK she's "ill-informed", how many of us actually know for sure WHAT she knows? We all interpret her songs differently. Heck, she could be talking about pennies ("Mr. Lincoln"), as we seem to be going though an economic depression.

    General Comment:pbrazil: "Proficiency" is a very nice word, I will grant you, but there are others that are more worthy of being used three times in the space of one paragraph. "And," for instance.

    Look, it's a toss-off little intro, hardly worthy of criticism with words such as "unavailing" or "innate proficiency" unless one has a serious chip on one's shoulder. Granted, I'm not sure I would have opened the album with it. (There's a weird little part of me that just might have swapped it with "Fat Slut.")

    While I don't hate GWB, I think it's entirely fair to suggest that he considers himself a king of sorts. As "the decider," he has worked nonstop to expand the power of the executive branch, at the expense of the other two. As an independent, I suspect that this is a powderkeg. So do many conservatives -- and just wait until the next liberal gets to the White House and uses GWB's fondness for "signing statements" as a precedent. The hypocritical backpedaling is going to be hilarious.

    General Comment:pbrazil, since when did the authority of deciding which artists are lesser and greater lie with you? and how do Bob Dylan or Rage Against the Machine have the "innate proficiency" to make politically charged songs? have you studied their brains to see this? I'm pretty sure you haven't.

    General Comment:Once again an ill-informed musician has attempted to make a political statement through their work, and once again the musician has contributed nothing more than an unavailing piece of blather. Personally, I feel that musicians, and actors alike, are better off simply forgoing the production of any politically inspired work unless they have the innate proficiency to do so. Names such as Bob Dylan and bands like Rage Against the Machine have that requisite proficiency, and their incessant success attests to that. However, when lesser artists, not necessarily overall lesser but those lacking that political proficiency, attempt to do so they end up falling short and unfortunately for Amos she has done just that.

    General Comment:of course, anybody who really studied the Civil War knows that Lincoln did a lot of things nastier than anything Bush has been accused of - suspending habeas corpus, closing down dissenting newspapers, jailing certain "peace" advocates... maybe we don't want to find mister Lincoln as much as we think we do, hm?

    General Comment:also interesting to note, at the G8 summit, Bush met Blair as "yo Blair." (hence the title) I think she is definitely poking at Bush and calling him out on that disrespect--which all the world caught and was critical of, just as they are being critical of (as they should be) his policies.

    General Comment:Perhaps it's referring to the fact that America got independance from England in order to escape monarchs (Mr Lincoln we can't seem to find you anywhere) and now they've got a new king.. which they don't want.. i dunno... i'm aussie so who am I to comment?

    General Comment:I've just discovered something else interesting. There is a play/film about George III called "The Madness of King George" that is supposed to deal primarily with "the relative powerlessness of the British monarch in a time when Parliament is supreme". Again this can be compared to Bush, as some have criticised him as little more than a puppet used by others in the administration. There is also a satirical book about Bush called "The Madness of King George".
