Her eyes opened
After that terrible night
Would she ever be the same
A revelation of her own demise
No one left but herself to blame

Her silence only fueled the flame
And now the angels
Have lost their wings
In daddy's playground
Nothing is what it seems
This was the last time
That he'd see her
That he'd touch her
That he'd make his little girl scream out loud

I'm gonna pound you into oblivion
I will make you fucking bleed
There is no escaping me
This is your destiny

He came to her
Through the window again
The fan blowing to hide the noise
No hesitation from the devil inside
Everyone he touched was destroyed

His madness only fueled the flame
And now the angels
Have lost their wings
In daddy's playground
Nothing is what it seems
This was the last time
That he'd see her
That he'd touch her
That he'd make his little girl scream out loud

I'm gonna pound you into oblivion
I will make you fucking bleed
There is no escaping me
This is your destiny

Time to walk with me
Time to die
Let me take you somewhere secluded
Where only the trees can see
If I can't have you no one will
Didn't you know it was always me

Your flame now burned out
You were daddy's little girl
Your flame now burned out
Oh god what have I done

Great song I have only listened to it two or three times now but I can not decide whether it is talking about punishing and killing the father for the rape or a story of a father that rapes his girl and then for one reason or another by the end kills her. Lines like, "If I can't have you no one will", make me think it's the daughter and not the father dieing at the end. Which do you guys think it is.

Mark is telling the story of a Father, who does not live with his family (separated/divorced?) raping his daughter and then deciding to kill her in the woods when he realizes if he can't have her no one can. Only afterward does he have some remorse when he asks what he has done.

Mark is an awesome singer/writer and Chimaira are an amazing group.

this sing will deffinitly get more comments after this song gets better knowen....this song is amazing...it seems to be written in both narrative and the view of a father who breaks through her daughters window at night and rapes her ....its pretty obvious which part is the fathers words...if you listen to the song ..the fucking voice effects on during the fathers part is awesome

the last 2 lines in the chorus make me believe its the fathers words (besides marks p.o.v. would be kinda pointless)

This song is definitely about the father raping and killing his daughter.

I'm pretty sure it's the daughter being killed and not the father because of the lines that seem like the father is saying "You were daddies little girl" and "Oh god what have I done".

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
