That taste
All I ever needed
All I ever wanted
Just too dumb to surrender
She shakes Like a mornin railway checking me out
Someone on her shoulder
The lamp
Flickers in the bedroom
She must feel it's awkward
Or it's Arizona
Now go
Stand up to a giant
Say that I'm a fighter
Too drunk to surrender
To drunk to remember
Shake hands
My face
Is layin' on the pavement
Tastin' something awful I hate when that happens
She'll wave
Bein' then that it's sexy
She must be plum crazy
I kinda think I like her
I kinda think I do

It's so obvious that the people posting the lyrics to the new album have just downloaded the song, or are two dumb to realise that the lyrics are printed in the album's sleeve. UGH!

"That taste, All I ever needed, All I ever wanted, Too dumb to surrender"

The meaning to this verse is obvious - he's talking about a girl, the taste of her lips, her ... whatever. I think that the line 'too dumb to surrender' suggests that he might have tried to play hard to get when he should have known all along that he would eventually give in to temptation.

"She shakes Like the morning railway Checking me out With someone on her shoulder"

This is where it gets complicated - the girl spots Caleb when she's with her boyfriend ("with someone on her shoulder") ... she's shaking because she's so attracted to him despite the fact she has a boyfriend?

"The lamp, Flickers in the bedroom She must feel as awkward Whore-house Arizona"

So far I think this is the verse where everyone so far as read WAY too much symbolic meaning into it - "The lamp flickers in the bedroom" - um, they're having sex? He says she feels as awkward as (?) whore-house Arizona - I enterpret this as meaning she's nervous about the pressure of sleeping with a rock star ... aside from the fact she's cheating on her boyfriend, and it's as blatant as a whore-house in Arizona? I don't know much about Arizona as I don't live in USA, but maybe that's a state where sexual promiscuity (especially a whore-house)is frowned upon?

"And I go, Stand up to a giant Say that I'm a fighter Too drunk to remember Too drunk to ..."

So this is the bit where Caleb thinks he's tougher than he is and 'stands up to a giant' - stands up to the girl's boyfriend when he's really drunk. He doesn't remember this once he wakes up- ...

"My face Is laying on the pavement Tasting something awful I hate when that happens"

... -after being knocked out on the pavement. Tasting something awful most likely means he's got blood in his mouth.

"And she waves, Thinking that it's sexy, She must be plum crazy, I kind of think I like her, Kind of think I do ..."

So this is the part where the girl finds him, waves, thinks it's hot that her boyfriend and the rock star tried to beat each other up over her, and Caleb realises he's got a thing for her.

Awesome song. I just wish you hadn't of destroyed it with completely incorrect lyrics ... an insult to KOL.
