I should have listened to her; so hard to keep control
We kept on eating, but our bloated belly's still not full
She gave us all she had, but we went and took some more
Can't seem to shut her legs; our mother nature is a whore

[Chorus:]
I got my propaganda
I got revisionism
I got my violence
In hi-def ultra-realism
All a part of this great nation
I got my fist
I got my plan
I got survivalism

Hypnotic sound of sirens echoing through the street
The cocking of the rifles, the marching of the feet
You see your world on fire; don't try to act surprised
We did just what you told us
Lost our faith along the way and found ourselves believing your lies

[Chorus]

All bruised and broken, bleeding, she asked to take my hand
I turned, just keep on walking
But you'd do the same thing in the circumstance; I'm sure you'll understand

[Chorus]

(You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism
You got your pacifism
I got survivalism)

(I got survivalism)

General Comment:There are so many awesome NIN songs yet this one really stands out with such a direct and incisive commentary. Even more-so than Headike a Hole, Survivalism is like the distillation of modernist American revolutionary idealism, fully detached from patriotism and neo-feudal/nationalistic sensibilities. Sorry Alec Empire, but if you grew up in a shit-hole like Cleveland Trent Reznor would of made you happy as an assistant.

General Comment:I think it should be

"I got my fist, I got my DICK, I got survivalism"

I just saw him live last night, and that's what he was saying, and he would grab his junk,.

General Comment:This song, like the rest on Year Zero, is poltical. I think 'survivalism' is the opposite of pacifism, like the last line says. Trent is talking about our government and society and how we rape the planet (mother nature is a whore) and destroy the world to try to save ourselves. We just go along conquering the planet and destroying everything to try to save our nation and our messed up way of life.

General Comment:I could be wrong, but as some of you have said, i don't think he is talking about george bush.
It's set 15 years in the future.
The album is about how the worlds going to be then.
