Daydreamer
Sitting on the sea
Soaking up the sun
He is a real lover
And making up the past
Feeling up his girl
Like he's never felt a figure before

A jaw dropper
Looks good when he walks
Is the subject of their talk
He would be hard to chase
But good to catch
And he could change the world
With his hands behind his back, oh

You can find him sittin' on your doorstep
Waiting for a surprise
And he will feel like he's been there for hours
And you can tell that he'll be there for life

Daydreamer
With eyes that make you melt
He lends his coat for shelter
Plus he's there for you
When he shouldn't be
But he stays all the same
Waits for you
Then sees you through

There's no way I
Could describe him
What I'll say is
Just what I'm hoping for

But I will find him sittin' on my doorstep
Waiting for a surprise
And he will feel like he's been there for hours
And I can tell that he'll be there for life
And I can tell that he'll be there for life

My Interpretation:People always ask where do you meet nice guys to date ... "school, church, club". But did you ever imagine him "sitting on your doorstep"...

(and he will feel like he's been waiting for hour but you can tell that he will be for there for life)
also now imagine he has been waiting there for you forever but you have beeing looking everywhere else to your surprise. and you look at him and see he is upset that you havent noticied him but in all honesty you can tell he would have waited there for life til you saw him

we all think we know what we want but you just hope that its all you think we want.

Im still day dreaming to meet him because everyone else seems to leave when i need them the most.

:( (sorry got in my feelings on that last line)

My Interpretation:I feel more that she's describing the daydreamer. The nice guy. The hopeless romantic that will never stop dreaming of that girl and that will always be there for her. "you can find him sitting on your doorstep" Just your average clingy nice guy.

Song Meaning:This song was the first track on Adele's debut album 19. According to her, it was about falling for a friend of hers who was bisexual. Adele explained to the Sun newspaper January 18, 2008 that this song is about falling for a bisexual friend:
“ It was about a friend of mine, who's still one of my best friends and he was bi. I am so jealous of girls anyway that having to fight with boys as well, I just couldn't do it. But I started falling in love with him around my 18th birthday. He convinced me that it would be fine but that night he kissed one of my best boyfriends and I was like: 'Get lost!'

General Comment:Hmmm...I think this this song is about a loser toy-boy daydreamer. He's some kind of ideal, but he never does much, and will forever be stuck on the doorstep. He could change the world with hands behind his back, which means he never lifts a finger. Adele is enchanted with him but bitter and making searing cutting remarks to him and other players! Sorry to shatter the dream.

General Comment:I think this song means, that he's downright pefect in every way. He's that 'Dream Boy' type as every one is saying, he's that one that every girl wishes for. He has a future, and he could make your day with no effort so she believes that "He could change the world, with his hand behind his back oh," He waits for her, he loves her, and is "There for her, when he shouldnt be." This song is beautiful and a wish for girls every where to find a boy like this.

General Comment:I think that music is art, especially when you're listening to someone as deep as Adele, and it's up to our own interpretation. We can make it whatever we want no matter what was intended or being thought of when the song was written. If it weren't for the line about feeling up a girl it would be a lovely song ode to a dog. An animal's love is so unconditional and beautiful, they are so trusting and forgiving, so kind... that's what I think about when I hear the song. We could all learn something from our dogs and cats and in that way they can change the world just by being themselves. Listen to the song again and think about your dog or cat if you have one.

General Comment:Maybe it's a mempory, and Adele is reflecting that?

    A jaw-w dropper
    Looks good when he walks,
He's the subject of their talk
He would be hard to chase, but good to catch
And he could change the world with his hands behind his back,

My Interpretation:Just gonna throw this out there:

Maybe Adele is dreaming up the perfect guy. That's why it's hard for her to describe him. She hasn't worked out all the details., all the details, she's just hoping for the perfect guy to appear on her doorstep someday.

Or maybe she just admires this guy and wonders if he'll ever be interested in her (that seems more obvious).

Lyric Correction:Where you wrote "Her joy", it should read "Jaw dropper"
