    General Comment:I dont really like this song that much...its really catchy though! ^_^ but also i think she has changed...she used to be all rebel and stuff...now she is kinda girly but i still love her! (Not in a gross way)

    General Comment:Hey, I agree that "Girlfriend" is kind of shallow, but Avril Lavigne is no sellout! Her other songs on the album, like "Runaway", "Innocence" and "Keep Holding On" are deep and sweet. Some of her more bubblegum type songs like "One of Those Girls" is just as decent.

    My Opinion:This song and "Sk8er Boi" were two of my first Avril Lavigne songs. I never really payed attention to the lyrics or meaning when I listened to them about. . . I dunno, 6 or 7 years ago, if they were even out then XD. However, I recently got two of her albums, "Let Go" and "The Best D*** Thing" and heard these songs for the first time in years. I've grown up since I heard them last (about six or 7 years, as I said) and I'm paying more attention now, and I have to agree with some of the things said here. Sk8er Boi was fantastic, and I remembered Girlfriend to be just as good, but now I'm realizing that it's really just what the lyrics are saying. There's no "greater meaning" to it. It's just a girl who is willing to do just about anything to get a guy. It seems childish now, though both are great songs for when you're feeling crummy and need something to just get up and dance to in your PJs. Or am I the only person who does that any more?

    My Interpretation:Yes it's about taking someone elses boyfriend, but not so much because she looks better than his girlfriend but she would treat him better, maybe she's a B**** to him.

    Song Meaning:I dont think this song is about her stealing and thinking she would be a better girlfriend, i think he point that shes portraying is that this guy likes her and she knows, but he hasnt told anyone, i think that this songs meaning is the frustration of knowing someone likes you but they dont come out with it, and she wishes that his girlfriend is her.

    General Comment:Nothing more then sell out crap. whats the deal with the blonde hair, her other albums were so much better, had meaning and were good. her new album for the most part is trash. but the 13yr old girls like shit music. if so called singers like britney and jessica are still around. her alice song is so much better.
