I'm a preacher, sweating in the pew
For the salvation I'm bringing you
I'm a salesman; I'm selling you hooks and plans
And myself, making demands

[Chorus]
When I'm home alone, I just dance by myself
And you pull my hips so close; volume goes with the truth
Signing off "I'm all right in bed, but I'm better with a pen."
The kid was all right but it went to his head

I am God's gift, but why would He bless me with
Such wit without a conscience equipped?
I'm addicted to the way I feel when I think of you, whoa
There's too much green to feel blue

[Chorus]

When I'm home alone, I just can't stop myself
And you pull my hips so close; volume goes with the truth
Signing off "I'm all right in bed, but I'm better with a pen."
I'm all right in bed, but I'm better with a pen
I'm all right in bed, but I'm better with a pen
The kid was all right but it went to his head, whoa

General Comment:For me, the line "there's too much green to feel blue," kind of sounds like he's saying "there's too much green (as in money) to feel blue," so, his fame and everything, and how he's really rich, is keeping him from being "blue," or sad? Or maybe, that's what's making him sad... I don't know. Does anyone else think that's what that line means?

General Comment:this song is just so, so pete wentz. it's kind of ridiculous. "the kid was alright but it went to his head" is totally the messageboard haters, kids who were fans when fob first came out but dropped them whent they got famous... because they thought it went to his head. love this song.

General Comment:I think FOB has some jacked up lyrics, but that's why I love them so much. This is my favorite song of theirs and I listen to it whenever I need a "pick me up."

"I'm a preacher, sweating in the pews
for the salvation I'm bringing you.
I'm a salesmen, I'm selling you hooks and plans
    And myself, making demands".
**I think he is talking about how fake people are and how you can get disappointed by believing everything you hear**

"When I'm home alone, I just dance by myself.
And you pull my head so close volume goes with the truth.
Signing off, I'm alright in bed, but I'm better with the pen.
The kid was alright, but it went to his head."
**I think here he is saying when he acts like himself, but only when he is alone and the closer he gets to "her" he starts to act more and more like himself without noticing. The more and more comfortable he got with "her" the more chemistry he thought there was and he got cocky and it turned her off.

"I am God's gift, why would he bless me
with such wit without a conscience equipped.
And I'm addicted to the way i feel when I think of you
"There's too much green to feel blue."
**This goes back to "her" and now how he's feeling more and more confident. My favorite line is line 3. And the last line, to me, says he has too much envy inside that he is not upset over losing her at all.

"When I'm home alone, I just can't stop myself.
And you pull my head so close, volume goes with the truth.
Signing off, I'm all right in bed, but I'm better with the pen.
The kid was all right, but it went to his head."
**I think this is the next girl he is pursuing. Then another, then another, etc.

General Comment:i think 'theres too much green to feel blue' means that he has too much money to feel sad...like money bought his happiness...which is just use of irony if you listen to the rest of the song in my opinion...
