It was a plane ride
From LAX to O'Hare
And what happened next
Was a series of unfortunate events
Please stay tuned
For what happened next

The life I breathe for you
Gives to me new wounds
To patch and dress as I reflect
On what else I could give you

Maybe I should blindly throw my faith
Into the next thing that comes my way
Standing at the back door
With the life that she left behind
Are we all the same behind the frame
Beneath the glass and fake last names?
I've been waiting far too long
To feel the sun on my back

It was a big bang
And a bright white light from nowhere
It turned my coach class window
To a first-class seat
On the evening news on NBC

The life I gave for you is yours, so keep it
You oughta keep it
If I had one last chance
To take it all back
You know I'd take, take, take you

Maybe I should blindly throw my faith
Into the next thing that comes my way
Standing at the back door
With the life that she left behind
Are we all the same behind the frame
Between the glass and fake last names?
I've been waiting far too long
To feel the sun on my back

"Apologies are all we'll ever be," she said
Standing on the stairs
Looking back, looking hard at me
"Well, life is long for those who have to wait," I said
It's the choice I had to make
The choice I had to make
The choice I had to

It was a plane ride
(Plane ride)
It was a plain ride
(Plain ride)
It was a plane ride
(Plane ride)
Well, just a plain...

Well, maybe I should blindly throw my faith
Into the next thing that comes my way
Standing at the back door
With the life that I left behind
If we know the way we're gonna die
Through everything else we will survive
I've been waiting far too long
To feel the sun on my back, yeah

But one day, I will stay

My Interpretation:I know the song is all about William loosing his song book on a plane. But man, when I read the Palahniuk's Fight Club I was all about "dude, now that TAI song makes all sense to me!!!!"

    See

    "It was a big bang
And a bright white light from nowhere
It turned my coach class window
    To a first-class seat"

I totally think about that part of the book when Jack finds out Tyler and him are the same person and everyone everywhere start to treat him like a king or even like god. No doubts about it at all.

"The life I gave for you is yours, so keep it
    You oughta keep it
If I had one last chance
    To take it all back
You know I'd take, take, take you"

It can surely remind you of Tyler being just a Jack's mind "creation" and the conflict when he wants to get rid from Tyler and he's all "I'm all you ever wanted to be and blablabla"

and so it goes, far and far...

General Comment:You guys are all wrong. This song isn't about a plane ride, it was about a PLAIN RIDE. Mr. Academy Is...Guy Dude Man had to go from LAX to OHARE through the Great Plains. He rode a bison. It was a very boring ride, which is why the song is about a PLAIN RIDE. When he got there he realised he lost his song book, and his manager flipped out. He blamed the Bison. As the bison tried to explain himself, the manager said "
    Look here steakhead,
I didn't ask for your 2 bit opinion of what was easier or harder and I am not complaining, (Believe me you'd know it if I was complaining) I asked a simple question. I didn't ask for a lecture on how you or anyone else does things."

The Bison then went and became extinct. The Manager turned out to be a disguised Hitler Dinosaur. And the song was written. Many people have not heard the sequel: Hitler Dinosaur and the Extinction of the Bison on a Plain Ride.

General Comment:I'm failry certain this song relates directly to fightClub? "LAX to O'HARE" being a direct quote from Edward Norton When he explains all the random places he goes to for work.
"it was just a plane ride" The Plane ride was the first time the protagonist meets Tyler Durden. and then a 'series of unfortunate events' .. that's pretty self explanatory..

and thats it i cant be fucked exlaining the rest... you get the point though?

General Comment:Why the hell do so many people insist that songs refrencing books and movies? It gets on my nerves because so few people can see songs as being meaningful like i do......

General Comment:Oh, wow. I didn't mean to be such an asshole about the lyrics. I must have been under the influence of something. Sorry.

General Comment:This song is pretty good. Doesn't compare to Almost Here though. Every time I listen to this song I have to try to not hear the "unfortunate events" part cuz he sounds so fucking stupid there. It sounds like saying "unforchant events".
