My Way Home Is Through You Lyrics
Gonna take off all my skins
Tell them pull out all my insides When they rifle in, Mom and dad think you'll be saved They never had the time, They're gonna medicate your lives You were always born a crime We salute you in your grave! Can't find my way home But it's through you and I know What I'd do just to get back in your arms Can't find my way home But it's through you and I know What I'd do just to get back in your arms [Well my gun, fires seven different shades of shit, so whats your favorite color, Punk?] Do you want to hold my hand? Could you sign this photograph? Cause I'm your biggest fan. Would you leave me lying here? We're not here to pay a compliment And sing about the government Oxycodine genocide Adolescent suicide I'll give you my sincerity Don't give a fuck about a Kennedy Here's what I've got to say! Can't find my way home But it's through you and I know What I'd do just to get back in your arms Can't find my way home But it's through you and I know What I'd do just to get back in your arms Ohhhh Whoa, Yeah yeah oh. [We've got to go! x7] Can't find my way home But it's through you and I know What I'd do just to get back in your arms Can't find my way home But it's through you and I know What I'd do just to get back in your arms Can't find the way, can't find the way Can't find the way-ay-ay-ay-ay Can't find the way, can't find the way Can't find the way-ay-ay-ay-ay [C'mon angel, dont you cry, C'mon angels dont you cry x2]

Gerard is saying that his fans parents/elders misunderstand these kids obsession with them and think that my chem is "turning them into a suicide cult", when really the fans find home in my chem (a place they feel loved and safe)
When it talks about his gun firing seven different shades of shit, I think Gerard's teasig the parents, and mockingly being the bad guy, and pretending to kill the teens that love him.
and the fans are begging to meet Gerard and the band, and the parents dissaprove and the fan's begging Gerard "would you leave me lying here?" meaning "can you really leave me with them? YOUR my home". And when it says "Angel dont you cry" Gerard's comforting his fans when they're upset about they're parents misunderstanding their love with my chem who saved them.

(fucking incredible, by the way)
and he definitely says "Well my gun fires seven different shades of shit, so what's you're favorite color punk?"
I've heard this term used once before (in a movie, cant remember where tho) in reference to the seven deadly sins...
which kind of makes sense, eh?
amazing song.

Gonna take off all my skins
Tell them pull out all my insides
When they rifle in,
Mom and dad think you'll be saved
(As someone else said they are speaking of the fans wanting ALL of him.. and perhaps the pressure of being idolized by some, it "tears him apart")
They never had the time,
They're gonna medicate your lives
You were always born a crime
We salute you in your grave!
(Same about the kids whos parents dont give them the attention that they need, the medicate them with psych drugs or they keep them quiet with material things... the last line may be talking about the ones who dont appreciate what their parents do for them until their parents have passed away)
Can't find my way home
But it's through you and I know
What I'd do just to get back in your arms
(Some people keep saying this is about a person.. but I take it more as he thinks hes lost his ability to do his main goal with music.. sending out a message *remember how he used to do that on stage but he doesnt as much anymore* because some fans dwell on his looks and his relationship status rather than the music or the message hes trying to send and hes make another effort *I know just what Id do* to keep sending that message *just to get back in her arms* deep I know but.. hey MCR have always used alot of metaphors
Can't find my way home
But it's through you and I know
What I'd do just to get back in your arms
[Well my gun, fires seven different shades of shit, so whats your favorite color, Punk?] (Here I think the gun is refering to his mouth *remember metaphors* He has many different things that he used to say at every show but now the message is considered shit because again fans dwell too much on little things instead of the music and message. So hes asking which "shade of the 7 different shades of shit" you wan to hear *which saying*
Do you want to hold my hand?
Could you sign this photograph?
Cause I'm your biggest fan.
Would you leave me lying here?
(insincere fans here.. or again dwell on the looks, etc and say they are their biggest fan.. "Would you leave me lying here" is if the band wasnt good looking, famous, etc.. would you still think they were that awesome?
We're not here to pay a compliment
And sing about the government
Oxycodine genocide
Adolescent suicide
I'll give you my sincerity
Don't give a fuck about a Kennedy
Here's what I've got to say!
(They arent there to kiss ass.. they arent there to tell you what to do or guide you.. or to speak of current events *politics*.. Not that it matters because most wouldnt listen anyway)
Can't find my way home
But it's through you and I know
What I'd do just to get back in your arms
Can't find my way home
But it's through you and I know
What I'd do just to get back in your arms
Ohhhh
Whoa, Yeah yeah oh.
[We've got to go! x7]
Can't find my way home
But it's through you and I know
What I'd do just to get back in your arms
Can't find my way home
But it's through you and I know
What I'd do just to get back in your arms
Can't find the way, can't find the way
Can't find the way-ay-ay-ay-ay
Can't find the way, can't find the way
Can't find the way-ay-ay-ay-ay
[C'mon angel, dont you cry, C'mon angels dont you cry x2] (Speaking to himself.. again.. no ones listening.. if hes referring to himself as "angel" then it may be from so many that have referred to him as such.. or sees him as a savior.)

I think this part
Gonna take off all my skins
Tell them pull out all my insides
When they rifle in,
Mom and dad think you'll be saved
They never had the time,
They're gonna medicate your lives
You were always born a crime
We salute you in your grave!
is their way of saying that parents will just throw pills at their troubled teens while they turn to music. Are you a real fan or do you only like them because they are already liked? Im sure im just recapping what others have said, but thats my thing. Fans want them to change their style and they are saying no. this is who we are. And also, on welcome to the black parade, gerard goes "Im just a man, not a hero." Obviously, hes saying hey look, if you like our music great, but dont hold us responsible for saving your life."

but... in my opinion:
1. the 'well my gun....' line sounds kinda like they're referencing Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry (1971)
2. the song sounds kinda like they're MOCKING shallow songs/artists (see KingRex, above)
We're not here to pay a compliment
And sing about the government
Oxycodine genocide
Adolescent suicide
I'll give you my sincerity
Don't give a fuck about a Kennedy
Here's what I've got to say!
coz that ENTIRE verse is like... 'we dont care, just wanna get back to some chick' SHALLOW. (but mocking coz we all know that MCR aren't really that shallow?)
so.. that really all i think about thins song. its good. but the lyrics aren't to be taken seriously. it really sounds like they are sung with a mocking tone.

"my gun fires seven different shades of shit, so what's your favourite colour, Punk?"
means something along the lines of that he can tell you anything you want to hear, so what is you want him to say to you.
i think its a bit of a dig at people who arent true, and possibly other bands that only say what their fans want to hear, and make records etc simply to please fans.
because as much as mcr love their fans, theyve alway been very much about doing what they want, and what they love as opposed to sacrficing that in favour of record sales.
that might be completely wrong. but its what i take from it.

and when you're grounded you are yourself and are well... home...
then theres the bit about the fans, thats kind of obvious...
i'm pretty sure he says "well my gun fires seven different different shades of shit"
but if he says the thing about markers, the whole thing could be about fans and touring and wanting to go home??
just a thought...

Top me not going in it deeply. He is saying thank-you to the 'real' fans and not the fans that just like them for a top hit.
The chorus sounds like he has to follow a path.
The fake fans or the real fans that have been there through everything. And he knows it's through the real.
Also the first to verses sound a bit like a person getting crushed in a mosh and recovering in a hospital.
Hold my hand verse is mocking the fake fans.
We're not here to pay a compliment
And sing about the government
Oxycodine genocide
Adolescent suicide
I'll give you my sincerity
Don't give a fuck about a Kennedy
Here's what I've got to say!
I love this part and it seems they are saying we don't sing about news, we don't sing about things that happen to famous people, we don't sing about politics. We sing about songs that relate to you and everyday life.

i always thought of it as a joke/insult kinda like "you're about to read a book my foot wrote. It's called On My Way To In Your Ass!" because he's basically asking what your favorite color is so he can fire that color of shit at you.
speedyturtle wrote something pretty cool about oxycodone genocide. i didnt know bout that before

"Can't find my way home
But it's through you" i think it's from a fan's view that have problems in it's life so .. they can't find their way home. but it's through "you" by that they mean through them. they are here to save your life.
^^ i'm danish and i kinda suck at english so.. yea..
but i love that song !
