i think its about Jeremy's g/f accusing him for something that he didn't do and then tries to blame his friends

but it kinda doesn't make sense...it could be him bein in a 3rd person tellin the story or could be in 1st person...so it could of been one of his friends.

so its up to u ppl to figure this one out...is it about him or a friend?

Jeremy just tells his story in first person the entire time, occasionally quoting his friends.

This is my 2nd favorite song on the CD, next to "A Shot in The Dark". It comes pretty dang close.

This song is sort of self explanatory. Someone did something involving the girl in the song, and the girl blamed Jeremy, so Jeremy told her it was one of his friends, and his friend was like "wtf" so jeremy put all the blame on the girl.

or, at least, that's my take on it.
but it's all in first person.

i think its talking about one of his freinds or some one stealing somrting, but when it says "I'm still singin' (whoa) don't say you won't let it go, cause you'll never know"

im guessing he is saying not to say that he would never let go of the object he stole cause they will catch them and he wont have it in other words he has let it go.


i could be wrong, but its what i think he mean :D

I personally think that maybe jeremy or the story of some guy he got with a girl that belonged to a friend of his, idk like him saying im alright with being a thief, and then the girl wanting to stay with him and him saying her biggest fear is letting go cause he wants out of the situation. plus he said lets live the lie.

When i hear this song, I think of an old detective movie. But in this one, The detective is a female, and she falls in love with the acused while trying to figure out the case,and they are keeping it under wraps to keep her job safe. But he tells his friends of how he played her, got what he wanted, and even though he was guilty, she loved him to much to let him go to prison. And His friends are telling him he's lucky shes a sucker.

But this is the terrribly cheese stuff that pops into my head, not what its actually about :/

This is what I think...Step by step:

Jeremy tells his girlfriend (Let's call her Stacy):
"Don't point your fingers baby this isn't the best time to test me"
Because she says it is his fault that she left Jeremy's friend (lets just call him Bob) to be with Jeremy. I think this story sort of takes place when Bob finds out that the two are now a couple.

Stacy tells Bob?:
"This wasn't just anyone here
And if it wasn't you it's someone you would lie for. Who would you lie for?"
I think she is telling Bob rather than Jeremy because I think he is already in the conversation. This is the only line that really confuses me in the start.

I think Jeremy sort of jumps into the conversation before Bob can reply and says:
"Lets live the lie I'm still singin' (whoa) don't say you won't let it go, cause you'll never know"
I think what he means by this is that he doesn't care what lies brought them together, he just wants to be with her. But the let it go part is stating that Stacy is claiming that she will never let go of Bob so she doesn't know how things can work out with Jeremy. Jeremy, however, just wants to give it a chance because "you'll never know" unless Stacy tries to be with him.


Then Jeremy turns to Bob and says:
"Don't be so quick to blame a friend when the smoke has cleared you'll have nobody left."
Because Bob is obviously going to blames Jeremy for stealing his girlfriend.





Bob replies:
"Don't be so sure of yourself
If this was me you'd never hear your name"
Because I think Jeremy is saying that it is all Bob's fault for not being good enough for Stacy and that's why they are together. Bob wants Jeremy to know that if Bob stole Jeremy's girl, he would put the blame on himself.

Jeremy then says:
"Heart means everything"
That is is justification for taking Stacy. I think it is sort of directed to both people.



Then Jeremy tells them both:
"I' m alright with being a thief"
I thinke he is telling both of them the same thing as he was saying when he told Stacy he wants to live the lie. He just wants to be with her basically.


I think Bob says this part to Stacy:
"From the top of the world
We'll let them know
That your biggest fear is letting go"
Because she can't decide between the two and he wants to announce it and make everyone see that she is being cruel by leading them both on.


Thats just what I think though haha.
