jeremy loves his girl =)

in this song he just explains to her that even though im on the road and playing for the kids, he will always love her

he is afraid of what would happen in the future but he tells himself bring it on im not afraid of my fears

To my ears the line,
"There's no looking back from here, no more second guessing my fears"
sounds more like,
"There's no looking back from here, no more dwelling on my fears"

Definetly, a sweet love song. Fighting for your love, trying to let everyone know that things can make it without change..but in everyone elses case...they changed, i feel its about what everyone elses judgements and they can just back off. jealously.

until i actually looked at the lyrics, the parts that stood out to me made me think that he was writing to his siblings or kids that were like him, fans or whatever, and that his parents didnt believe in him but he's gonna show them when they see him on tv.

thats what i got at first.

this is a love story song but its mostly about being somebody "twenty bucks says you will remember me when you
see me on your tv screen" like when people doubted him but hes gonna prove them wrong, hence the name "monument"
and its his time to shine its what he worked for his success overcoming everything =]

well hes just someone who's going through a lot of problems in his life and he just wants to get away from is all as for hte whole monument thing hes saying that people look up to him and he dosent want to mess anything up for those people who are inspiring to be him so he runs and starts a new life

I love a day to remember, always have.
But is it just me, or do virtually all of their songs seem to be complaining about being famous in some way? Mainly regarding homesickness and his status. I don't know, i've been listening to them all day and it's just caught my attention.
It's only my opinion. Don't shoot?

I can agree with that.....most of their songs have something to do with some combination of dealing with the fame, friends backstabbing them, and jeremy's edge. I dont think thats such a bad thing though...At least their lyrics are about actual problems that they face....I like that

The song is about Jeremy having to go on the road to tour and being away from his girlfriend. "Miles away and i wish this ("this" meaning the band and touring) didnt mean so much to me, To be a monument for the rest of them ("monument" is him figuratively being something that the fans love, the fans being "The rest of them")

But also, it speaks of the bands success and how nothing is gonna stop them from getting to the top. ("20 bucks says you'll remember me ("Me" being the band) when you see me on your TV screen, It may be the first time, but it won't be the last time. And I'll scream so loud that everyone in this place will hear every word I say, 'cause this is my time, this my time to shine. Let nothing stand in our way")
