I think the song is based on a great friend abandoning him for no reason so in anger he made this song to tell his friend that he never needed him as a friend because he didn't do anything but ruin his life more and he is better now without the friend...

I don't drink, smoke, and am still a Virgin.

I dont know if i'm over analyzing, but I hear a double meaning there...

It sounds like Jeremy is saying that he'll never break edge but it also sounds like he means that he wont be hurt by his friend who hurt him.

And id also like to add a point to this whole edge debate....people who take the edge are supposed to be edge for life. High school kids who dont dont smoke and dont drink are just staying legal. They are probably going to have a few beers when they get older. It's all about the commitment to keep poison out of your body because thats what you beleive in......It's also really lame to shit talk edge people because they have a label. Its not because we think we're cool, its because that set of beleifs describes completely the kind of life we want to live. Relegions have labels....I'm pretty sure what a just wrote applies to them too.

its not about fucking edge. its about a friend that betrayed jeremy so now everyone hates him/her. thats where the danger in starting a fire comes in. he pissed jeremy off, and becuz of that its started a "fire" and now many people hate him/her.

I'm almost positive this song is about their first drummer before alex.
They all hate the dude, especially jeremy.

note the "we've" referring to them as a band.
