Thnks Fr Th Mmrs Lyrics
Im gonna make it bend and break,
They sent you to me without wings,
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll,
In case God doesn't show,
Let the good times roll (Let the good times roll)
And I want these words to make things right,
But its the wrong's that make the words come to life,
Who does he think he is?
If that's the worst you've got,
Better put your fingers back to the key.

One night and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great,
He tastes like you, only sweeter,
One night, yea, one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See, he tastes like you, only sweeter.
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Been looking forward to the future,
But my eyesight is going bad,
And this crystal ball is,
Always cloudy except for (except for),
When you look into the past (look into the past),
One night stand (One night stand, oh)

One night and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great,
He tastes like you, only sweeter,
One night, yea, one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See, he tastes like you, only sweeter.
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

They say I only think,
In the form of crunching numbers,
In hotel rooms, collecting Page Six lovers,
Get me out of my mind, and get you out of those clothes.
Im a liner away from getting you into the mood.
Woah-oh.

One night and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great,
He tastes like you, only sweeter,
One night, (Woah) Yea (Woah) one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See, he tastes like you, only sweeter.
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

One more night,
One more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great,
He tastes like you, only sweeter,
One (more) night, Yea one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See, he tastes like you, only sweeter.
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.

i think the spoken part after the first line is this:

I’m gonna make it bend and break. (it sent you to me without wings)

In hotel rooms, collecting Paycheck's lovers

the rolling stone album review said it was page six lovers, which i suppose makes more sense
as in petes alleged relationships with ashlee simpson and lindsy lohan (page six girls in the tabloids)
still not sure but

And I want these words to make things right,
But it’s the wrong that make the words come to life

he might be saying that what chris said was true. pete may have apologized but he really *did* mess around with chris's girlfriend hence "the wrong that make the words come to life"

Who does he think he is?
Is that the worst you’ve got?
But it puts your fingers back to the key

Calling out chris, obv.
key = as in keys on the keyboard.

*oh and i think it should be "better put your fingers back to the keys"

Calling out chris, obv.
key = as in keys on the keyboard. since chris did bash pete on his [chris's] blog.

This is the wrong title. We already have this song up. Lyrics are probably just as wrong

Patrick may have some trouble annunciating, but not to the point of "page six" sounding like "paycheck's." It's definitely paycheck's; Rolling Stone isn't infalliable as far as lyrics go.

GREAT song. And yeah, I support the Hey Chris theory. Makes a ton of sense, but I question "paycheck's lovers". Sounds kinda like a hooker thing to me.

My sister wasn't very fond of FOB and this song TOTALLY brought her around.

Call me crazy but i'm pretty sure when he's saying "He tastes like you only sweeter." He's kissing her one last time knowing where her lips have been. But that stil sounds kinda wierd...

Yeah I have to broaden on that. At the beginning he calls her an angel without wings. Then he says the words can't make the problesm right and , "who does he think he is." Then is giving her "One night, and one more time." and after he kisser her he says, "see, he tastes like you only sweeter."

Along with the title possibly being a Brand New reference, I couldn't help but notice how "They say I only think,
In the form of crunching numbers," sounds like a reference to, "I think in decimals and dollars". So, POSSIBLY another one? Who knows, though.

One more idea... the chorus is the girl's point of view?

I love FOB and have like 35 of their songs on my iPod (before this CD), but I don't know about this "heychris" story thing that you guys are talking about (Sorry if I'm not "legit" enough for you). Anyone care to explain?

And also, can someone explain what the Closer reference is? I've never seen the movie.

Yeah forget about the whole 'legit' fan thing. Whoever said that is an idiot.

This is the information I found about it... Chris was the band's (or more specifically Pete's) childhood friend. The song Grenade Jumper is largely about him. Most of stuff about the fight is here:
http://askheychris.livejournal.com/93593.html

And the Closer reference is 'He tastes like you, only sweeter' spoken by Julia Robert's character to her husband when asked what her affair partner was like. I'd advise you to watch the movie, it's amazing.

I swear, this song reminds me of last Halloween.

"One night, and one more time"
Referring to the fact that Halloween is only one night, and i want another one like it.

"Thanks for the memories"
Me and this girl had some fun makeout time.

"Even though they weren’t so great"
We got caught by the cops past curfew.

That was a fun Halloween!

this song is purely about hot sex, Sex, SEX!!! come on, every line just screams it. it maybe could be talking of an affair. i hate cheaters. and this could be, like, revenge. you know, a guy goes down on your chic, you go down on his to get revenge. kinda weird to go right after the calm and quiet Golden. funny line-up.

Ok, first off, these lyrics are ALL wrong. Let me transcribe what I hear:

I’m gonna make it bend and break.
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll
in case God doesn’t show.
(Let the good times roll.)
And I want these words to make things right,
but it’s the wrongs that make the words come to life.

Who does he think he is?
Is that the worst you’ve got?
Better put your fingers back to the keys.

One night and one more time,
thanks for the memories
even though they weren’t that great.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
One night, yeah and one more time,
thanks for the memories.
Thanks for the memories.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
Oh.

I’m looking forward to the future,
but my eyesight is going bad
And this crystal ball...
It’s always cloudy except for (except for)
when you look into the past (look into the past)
one night stand, one night stand.

One night and one more time,
thanks for the memories
even though they weren’t so great.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
One night, yeah and one more time,
thanks for the memories.
Thanks for the memories.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
Oh.

They say you I think
in the form of crunching numbers.
In hotel rooms,
collecting ??? lovers.
Get me out of my mind.
Get you out of those clothes.
I’m a letter away
from getting you into the mood.

One night and one more time,
thanks for the memories
even though they weren’t so great.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
One night, yeah and one more time,
thanks for the memories.
Thanks for the memories.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
Oh.

One night and one more time,
thanks for the memories
even though they weren’t so great.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
One night, yeah and one more time,
thanks for the memories.
Thanks for the memories.
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
Oh.

I can't figure out what kind of lovers he's collecting in hotel rooms. It sort of sounds like paycheck, but not really.

Am I the only one who thinks this song is the infamous "MySpace Whore" song?

He met a girl on MySpace and they had a one night stand in a hotel room. She then cheated on him with another guy (hence the Closer reference). The title, the reference to fingers to the keys, and the title are all reference to internet culture/relationships.

The line, "He tastes like you only sweeter" is taken from the movie "closer". The husband approaches the wife and they get into an argument about her cheating on him; they are talking about sperm because she performed oral on another man and he asked how it tasted. If you haven't seen the movie, see it. Panic! At the Disco also took a line from that movie for one of their song titles.

I'm not sure what significance it has in this song. I'm really not sure what this song is even supposed to mean. In the song they say, "Look into the past... one night stands." or something.

The page six lovers line has to do with magazines and how he is 'collecting' them. Perhaps that means how he cuts them out... I don't know, I won't even try at that one.

Definitely one of the biggest stumpers on this album.

And also, it is "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs." When they went to code the CD or something it has the vowels, but it isn't supposed to have the vowels. iTunes did it when I ripped the CD to my laptop, but it's written on the album and in the pamphlet.

he tastes like you only sweeter, is a line from the movie closer.
grenade jumper was about chris right?
hey chris you were our only blah blah blah right?
this song i think is about that chris.
pete supposidly fooled around with chris's girlfriend so thats where the he/she tastes like you only sweeter line comes in
and the thanks for the memories even though they werent so great, pete and chris were old schooday buddies and they got into the fight about the gf thing.
also the "And I want these words to make things right,
But its the wrong's that make the words come to life" refers to the fact pete wants to make things right with this song but the lyrics came after things went bad
"Who does he think he is?
If that's the worst you've got,
Better put your fingers back to the keys" basically calling chris out and they keys refer to that of a keyboard or piano
