I think this song is about two people who fell in love, everything is right with that person, they want to be a better person for them because when its just the two of them everything is perfect. They feel they found their other half they dont want to let go because its the best thing that could be happening.
You should have said, "Nice to meet you, I'm your other half" , it mean that God becomes fully a part of you, filling you up. Also, the song says "I'm trying so hard, with all my heart and mind

You don't have to take everything so literally. It means that he looked into finding Jesus. Actually, they are a Christian band, and a lot of their songs have to do with this message. such as "must have done something right" so he looked at the Bible and realized that God was always looking at him and hoping he'd find him.
