Bought myself a new look
Something gave me another chance to see
Each time, each time, I will try to do better
By now, by now, is where I guess I belong

Pull my fist from my mouth
I beat myself for a quarter century
Remind, remind
That it's bigger than me
Dissolve, dissolve
Into evergreens

These are things that I keep hidden in belly
I can't see them but they control my life
For a moment you could see right through me
See right through me
Help me make this right
Look at all those skeletons running from their closets
Get them in the light

These are things that I keep hidden in belly
I can't see them but they control my life
For a moment you could see right through me
See right through me
Help me make this right
Look at all those skeletons running from their closets
Get them in the light
Get them in the light

You can take it in stride
Or you can take it right between the eyes
Suck up, suck up
And take your medicine
It's a good day, it's a good day
To face the hard things

Pull my fist from my mouth
I beat myself for a quarter century
Remind, remind
That it's bigger than me
Dissolve, dissolve
Into evergreens

We found
Beautiful babies
Sleeping in our ribs
Get them in the light
Get them in the light

General Comment:This song is about depression, confronting demons you've never been able to face.

"You can take it strides, or you can take it right between the eyes.
Suck up, suck up and take your medicine.
It's a good day, it's a good day to face the hard things."

My Interpretation:"It's a good day to face the hard things" "Suck up and take your medicine" ... Just do what you gotta do! Reminds me of my me and my mom fighting about taking medicine when I was little.

"These are the things that I keep hidden in my belly" are just those problems/issues in your life that you refuse to work on because it's too hard!

The skeletons running from their closets represents freedom after dealing with your problems

The babies sleeping in our ribs represents growth and change. Newness.

I can't believe people thought this was about abortion!!! people are sooo literal! haha.

My Interpretation:To me this song seems to be telling someone to get over something, face a problem, and stop taking opinions the wrong way...basically, to get over yourself and realize how ignorant you really can be. VVV

You can take it in stride
Or you can take it right between the eyes
    Suck up, suck up
    And take your medicine
    It's a good day, it's a good day
    To face the hard things

Then this part is telling the person to see that there are many things bigger than your problems. The world is not revolving around you. VV

Pull my fist from my mouth
I beat myself for a quarter century
    Remind, remind
    That it's bigger than me
    Dissolve, dissolve
    Into evergreens

and the part talking about babies and such, i think it just works in with how you should think about other things than yourself. "Taking Your Medicine" may mean that you should really listen to what people are telling you, suck it up and stop complaining.

General Comment:It seems obvious to me that this song is about pill addiction and the pills prescribed becoming more and more addictive to the point where he can no longer control it.. I may be wrong.

General Comment:this song is most definitely about depression and it hits the feelings right on the head.

"these are things that I keep hidden in my belly
I can't see them but they control my life"

is exactly how it feels to be depressed. the feeling is overbearing. it controls you in every way possible. but it's impossible to explain why or what the feeling is. but it's there and it eats you away. unless you decide to do something about it.

General Comment:Craig Minowa suffered one of the most heart-wrenching losses anyone could imagine- one that could easily ruin a person and cause them to give up. Instead of allowing this situation to ruin his life, he took it for what it was and managed to get through it.

The strength and character that his lyrics reveal amaze me. They're a very real band- they don't sugarcoat pain, but they don't seem to allow themselves to wallow in it either. Their message is awesome. Yea, stuff happens, and it can be horrific, but there's no sense in allowing it to control your life. Face it, deal with it, move on, and be stronger for it.

Awesome, awesome band! This song challenges me beyond words. Seeing this song live was an experience I will never forget!

General Comment:I am sorry I even read some of the comments on here. Abortion? That is so far off track. This song to me is talking about sadness and how when sudden life changing events take place all kinds of buried feelings and thoughts come out and it changes people. And no matter what, you can never go back. And the initial fight to keep things suppressed. A main place people store their stress and fears is in their stomach.

General Comment:yeah, craig minowa lost his child in 2002. nearly all of his music revolves around coping with his loss. this guy has a reason to be emo. absolutely love this band.

General Comment:leisure you got it. Also, if anything the baby lines refference the child the lead singer and celloist lost to SIDS I believe(don't quote me on that though). I saw this song as coping and trying to move on after that.
