We came from the pile.
We came from the dead and dying.
But the moment you pulled
You brought us back to the living.
Stand here to a world at war.
This blacken field leads to ruin,
Ruled by folds pulled tight, and a pit so slick.
Draw your lines, let nothing cross. No!
What booming hate moves close,
So vast that the clouds would follow?
What looms, with thunder?
And the water did fall.
The turn of earth to mud.
Once dried veins, now fill and swell.
Lift the torches, light the fields!
We stand as the giants make way.
We stand as the giants make way.
We are the few to shed the fold,
We are the few!
Oh, sweet lit clarity grant us the eyes for this bane.
Towered beasts now meet our lines...
Oh but fast on the wind came a song, don't turn.
The lines crossed now charge.
The lines crossed but you turned away.
It was a beautiful song, sung through beast's jagged teeth.
It's not real. You'll see. It's not real. You'll see.
She's the one that you want The soft wet skin that haunts.
Deep inside a warmth that lies on a bed,
She's calling to you...
Fight from your knees and the giants will fall.
...taste the wine of her lips, feel free to taste this kiss.
Drink deep and forget the struggle in the battle you live.
Don't turn we need you. Don't turn we need you.
The sirens are calling your name!
Come back. Make the call.
Father, send your rain.
Lay waste to the kings here.
Lay waste to their grip and we'll rise.
We will rise.
We came from the dead and dying.
But the moment you pulled
You brought us back to the living.
Stand here to a world at war.

We came from the dead and dying.
But the moment you pulled
You brought us back to the living."
Basically saying that they were sinners brought to God. The rest of the song, up to the turning point, is just a metaphor for spiritual warfare/saving lost souls. But than:
"She's the one that you want The soft wet skin that haunts."
Just when they are about to begin the fight, the spiritual battle, he gives into temptation and falls into sin.
We must fight on, and not listen to the siren's song right as the charge is made agains satan
What booming hate moves close,
So vast that the clouds would follow?
What looms, with thunder?
And the water did fall.
The booming hate is Satan, moving closer as we are more and more tempted by sin, by the sirens call. It's so big that the clouds follow. Later, begging the father to send his rain, makes me believe that the clouds following that hate, satan, are sent by the father, waiting and ready for us to send our call for help. The hate is looming, but with that thunder in the background, and then the rain falls. Turns the earth to mud, fills once dry veins with life. At the end, after calling the father to send his rain, it says we lay waste to their grip. The rain he has sent has disabled the enemy, allowing us to rise.
The general flow of the song involves the beginning, where we (the christians) were brought back from death, our certain damnation. We were brought to face a world at war, fighting and being ruled by evil, by hate, by Satan. Then it gets into showing us that God has truly called us forth, by equipping us with the ability to call on his rain, to face off the enemy with him providing for our struggle. He grants us with the eyes to see the bane, our wisdom to see the true cause of the death and hate all around, the truth of the world. Although the song so sweet is calling to use, we cannot turn, we cannot compromise our lines and allow the enemy to cross at all. Also meaning that if we allow satan any hold on our life, it will only get stronger and stronger. It's not real, you'll see. The image Satan puts forth, the temptation, isn't real, and we cannot turn our eyes from what is. Then finally, at the end, singing in a beautiful manner, imitating that of a siren calling to us, is actually showing us the truth of what seems so true, so wonderful. It is granting us the wisdom to know that the call of satan, of his siren, is false, and can only lead to death.
As we make the call, calling out to God for help, to our fellow Christians, we see the rain sent, we see the earth turn to mud, once dry veins filled with life God sends, and we see the Kings of the world lain to waste, we see their grip wasted, and then we rise.
Awesome metaphor for prayer
At the end of the song, it is a call to take up arms again, and not to give up on God. "The sirens are calling your name! Come back. Make the call." Believers support each other in the faith, and in a way need each other for support in that sense. "Don't turn we need you. Don't turn we need you."
I know this song speaks to me hugely. Awesome band!
God Bless,

We came from the dead and dying.
The world was filled with sin and we were as good as dead, unable to have eternal life. God gave Jesus who washed all sin away. But everyone still has to battle against sin and the devil.
But the moment you pulled
You brought us back to the living.
Stand here to a world at war.
The song is about fighting temptation and sin. The siren is the devil trying to lure you in with the sounds of sweet lies. The end is calling apon God to rid the devil and to give strength.
