I really like this song, probably my favorite on this album. I think that this song has to do with a guy who sort of has a thing for this girl, but he knows that there are so many things wrong with her on the outisde it's going to be close to impossible to get to the inside. And maybe he keeps trying to show her that she really is more than just (idk, just a pretty face, shallow, etc.)

Great song, wonderful, whimsical lyrics, and just another great BNL song.

it feels as though they're writing about falling in love with a generic T.V celebrity who preaches peace and love but doesn't show these virtues in her actions ( What's more ironic than a hippie in Versace? /It's all peace and love and limousines...). After falling in love with her, he sees that it's not worth it to fall in love with what you've seen a million times (It's like making love to a TV...), but his friends don't believe him (Your hangers-on say it's a great deal...).

I love the driving beat and how the song screams to be in either an episode of Scrubs or in a teen chick-flick.

I think this is another great example of BNL pulling a random topic out of the blue that somehow people can relate to very well, and then writing a song about it. To me, this song seems to be about how you come to admire someone on TV because their character is something you'd love to have in a friend or girlfriend but then you realize how improbable everything is in the character's world and that the actor playing the character is probably has the same faults as those who surround you, and the actor does not even realize that perhaps they would be better off acting more like their character in real life.

Ok. The like "What's more ironic than a hippie in Versace?" makes my LIFE.

And the harmony in this one between Steve and Ed = fantasmic.

The album was total crap, but the line "What's more ironic than a hippie in Versace?" made this album a bit better.

spooky: damn it, you stole my line!

I've never been into this album much, too cryptical and multi-interpretable, easily getting lost. It's like decyphering the crayon drawings of a 38 year old high on crack.
