Light touched my hands in a dream of golden skans From now on, you can forget all future plans Night touched my hands with the turning, golden skans From the night to the light, all plans are golden in your hands Set sail from sense, bring all her young Set sail from where we once begun While we wait, while we wait A hall of records or numbers or spaces still undone Ruins or relics, disciples and the young A hall of records or numbers or spaces still undone Ruins or relics, disciples and the young Light touched my hands in a dream of golden skans From now on, you can forget all future plans Night touched my hands with the turning, golden skans From the night to the light, all plans are golden in your hands We sailed from sense, brought all our young We sailed from where we once begun While we wait, while we wait A hall of records or numbers or spaces still undone Ruins or relics, disciples and the young A hall of records or numbers or spaces still undone Ruins or relics, disciples and the young Light touched my hands in a dream of golden skans From now on, you can forget all future plans Night touched my hands with the turning, golden skans From the night to the light, all plans are golden in your hands Light touched my hands in a dream of golden skans From now on, you can forget all future plans Night touched my hands with the turning, golden skans From the night to the light, all plans are golden in your hands

General Comment:According to a radio interview with the Klaxons, the name "Golden Skans" is derived from a performance luminaire, the "Golden Scan" manufactured by Clay Paky

General Comment:"Golden Skans" originates from the aggregates of Self in Buddhism called "skandhas". Though there is no belief in Buddhism that the "Self" exists, each skandha, which there are five, are a collection of essences that make up a person. The reference into the Klaxons song is in partnership with the use of lights, especially in the video. Like the skandhas, light is what brightens a dark area and in Buddhism, the skandhas are intended to set who a person is and the realization of what their purpose on Earth is for, all for the final goal of nirvana, or ultimate enlightenment.

As far as the song goes, it is an addicting song, and the remix by SebastiAn (french DJ) is almost more intoxicating.

    General Comment:MEANING OF "SKANS":
"In Lakota tradition, Skan is the Motion of the universe, the lifeblood pulse of the body and the solar winds. The Great Spirit, Wakan Tanka, reflected upon himself and created the four Superior Spirits, Wi (the first to be created, bringing light to the world), Skan, Maka (Mother Earth) and Inyan (the solid support of the Earth or the rock associated with the natural forces of the Earth).

Skan set the stars and planets moving on their paths and released the winds to travel across the universe. Skan enters the body with the spirit and sets in motion the breath and blood of new life. All that is created is in motion. The seas, the clouds, the trees and all that live within and upon the Earth move in a dance to the radiance of the One who created all things, Wakan Tanka."

General Comment:Why do some people check ou wikipedia about „Skan“ where you find sth. about mythology and not „Golden Skans“ oft he Klaxons? Then you’ll find the answer:
"According to a radio interview with the Klaxons, The name "Golden Skans" is derived from a performance luminaire, the "Golden Scan" manufactured by Clay Paky."
This makes sense in context with the lyrics and with the picture of the single. Look closely and you’ll see that it is a moving mirror luminaire like the golden scan of clay paky with its mirror and rays.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…
Ok, it looks abstract, but... Just check google for a picture of such a golden scan. Moreover there is the refractive prisma (abstract too) in the corner of the picture which is by the way clay paky’s brand mark.
So I agree with wicky boy concerning the meaning oft he song. And I like it…
