Lyrics for Great Romance as interpreted by xlushlipsx

Great Romance Lyrics
(spoken)
A beautiful girl can make you dizzy,
Like you've been drinking jack and coke all morning.
She can make you feel high,
Full of the single greatest commodity known to man:
Promise. promise of a better day,
promise of a greater hope,
promise of a new tomorrow.
This particular aura,
can be found in the gait of a beautiful girl.
In her smile, and in her soul.
In the way she makes every rotten little thing about life
seem like it's gonna be ok.

(sung)
September never stays this cold,
Where I come from and you know,
I'm not one, for complaining.
But I love the way you roll
Excuses off the tip of your tongue,
As I (slowly) slowly, quietly, slowly, fall apart.

This won't mean a thing come tomorrow,
And that's exactly how I'll make it seem.
'Cause I'm still not sleeping,
Thinking I've crawled home from worse than this.
So please, please, (please)
I'm running out of sympathy,(I'm running out of sympathy)
I never said I'd take this,
I never said I'd take this lying down.

She says, "C'mon c'mon,
Lets just get this over with."(3x)

I never said I'd take this lying down.
Well I've crawled home from worse than this,
From worse than this!

You always come close
But this never comes easy.
I still know everything.(3x)

You always come close
But this never comes easy.(2x)

I never said I'd take this lying down.(2x)

You always come!
You're coming close.

I never said I'd take this lying down.
But I've crawled home from worse than this.
If it's not keeping you up at night,
Then what's the point?(4x)

I'm in your room,
Well is this turning you on?
Am I turning you on?

I'm in your room,
Are you turned on?
I'm on the corner of your bed
Are you turned on?(2x)

if you listen to that version, _Bec_, it is clearly by taking back sunday. not fall out boy.

i am pretty sure that fall out boy does not do a cover of this. but i guess i could be wrong.

i have both versions. they exist. even though i must admit that the singing sounds damn alike... like, the tbs version doesnt have the spoken intro, and the music is diff, but the singing really sounds alike... hmm...

yeah, Shawn John is right about this one... it's not by Fall Out Boy at all.

and the vocals don't sound alike at ALL, if you have any type of ear for vocals.

Like he said, it's a demo version from back in the day, TBS threw in an excerpt from the movie "Beautiful Girls" in the beginning.

I think somebody fucked up and put Fall Out Boy as the artist on purpose so they can make people have a convo about how FOB's lyrics sound very similar to those previously by TBS.

I have this version AND the Tell All Your Friends version, its definatly tbs, it may rough around the edges but it was only a demo. Granted the main vocals dont sound quite the same but there's no mistaking fred's screams.

How stupid can you all be? This song is off Taking Back Sunday's Ep before they released "Tell All Your Friends". How the hell can you mistake this as Fall Out Boy?

"Granted the main vocals dont sound quite the same but there's no mistaking fred's screams."

Well, you made a mistake, It's John Nolan doing the backup vocals. Fred wasn't in that band yet (he would of ruined Tell All Your Friends).

"i have both fall out boy and taking back sunday versions of this song so it looks like fall out boy do do a cover of this song"

FALL OUT BOY HAS NEVER COVERED THIS SONG!

For fans of Taking Back Sunday listen to Knockout Kings, they give you the same feeling as Tell All Your Friends did when you first put it in your CD player.
