In a fog too thick to climb through
We're sitting, drifting out to meet the clouds
I will not know when the time has come
I find a tree with the flattest rose

I know you're coming
I have spent my time preparing

What to keep and what to throw away?
What will breathe and what will suffocate?
Although you're late, we communicate
With staples and tape
By your way, we'll rearrange the day
With staples and tape
Staples and tape
Come home

By afternoon you can't imagine moving the world
Playing out a famous dream in your mind
I know you would
Interwoven hands to infinity
Turn a lock with the hidden key

I know you're coming
I have spent my time preparing

What to keep and what to throw away?
What will breathe and what will suffocate?
Although you're late, we communicate
With staples and tape
By your way, we'll rearrange the day
With staples and tape
Staples and tape
Come home

Time has just begun
Time has just begun to settle (3x)

General Comment:Just listened to this song again for the first time in a while and thought "That guitar part sounds familiar, I wonder if anyone has mentioned it on SM." And I come here to be greeted by my own message I completely forgot posting. It's not the very beginning that is familiar, it's the guitar during the verses.

General Comment:I love this song. The beginning sounds familiar, but I can't tell where I've heard it anywhere else.

General Comment:It's actually "The city's drifting out to meet the clouds, How will I know when the time has come? Find a tree with a ladder rung." And the middle verse is really "An afternoon you can't imagine ruined, Playing out a famous dream in your mind, Interwoven hands to infinity, Turn a rock with a hidden key." Then instead of "by your way" it's "I know you're late", and the end is "time has just begun to slow." I got all of these from the album insert.

General Comment:"the flattest rose" is wrong. Please suggest and I'll edit it.
I almost think that the obvious Christian themes in this song are satire.
