It must have been your funny face
It must have been your laugh
It must have been your paper chase that
Wasn't quite enough

It must have been your tiny dance that
Made me laugh out loud
Must have been your angel dust that
Put me on your cloud

You're the reason why.....
You're the reason I.....

It must have been your love
It must have been your love..... I said
It must have been your love..... In a little bit.....
It must have been your love

It must have been your poppy eyes
That made me step outside
It must have been the sight of tears that
Let me know I cried

It must have been your bunny shake
It must have been your love
A lot of girls won't come around they
Treat me like a wolf

It must have been your love
It must have been your love..... I said
It must have been your love..... I gotta get that
It must have been your love

You're my angel baby
You're my darling
You're my star
Lo lo lo lolita
Let her see me deep in love

You're the reason why.....
You're the reason I.....

It must have been your love
It must have been your love..... now
It must have been your love.....
It must have been your love

You're my angel baby
You're my darling
You're my star
Lo lo lo lolita
Let her see me deep in love

lopsided eyes and a crooked frown
Make more of life, just settle down
Every single little princess needs a crown
Make more of life, just settle down

My Interpretation:Well, anyone who doesn't think that this song is about Voldemort's life attempt on Harry Potter is wrong. The song is written from the perspective of Harry as if he could remember the day that you know who made his first attempt on him and is reflecting on it sometime in the future. To prove my theory, I think that the vision of Voldemort's face is a blur to him, (as of the first book), and then he sees Voldemort in the chamber for the Sorcerers Stone and thinks to himself "It must have been your funny face". Now Harry is confused as to why he was not killed by Voldemort that night. So he digs a little deeper and starts to think about his mom. Now the next thought comes into his head, "It must have been your love.".

*Voldemort's striking resemblance to the all famous Slender Man would also explain the lyric, "It must have been your paper chase that wasn't quite enough."

General Comment:My initial thought was that this was about Ione, because he mentions making more of life and settling down. He was shooting heroine and coke and all his stuff and Ione loved and took care of him no matter what, however, it was a time before he had even thought about being clean. With that in mind I can tell this was written later, but as for about which girl, I have no answer.

General Comment:The chorus line is "Little Simi deep in love" Not "Let her see me deep in love" . The song was written when he was with Heather Christie who is from Simi California (where they supposedly went on their first date).

General Comment:..I wouldn't doubt it's a little bit pedophilic. Kiedis has dated many young girls and have dumped these girls for even younger ones severel times. He has stated he likes to "watch them blossom like flowers" and now that he's calling them lolitas.. Gross.

General Comment:I loved this song from the first time I heard it...everything about it....the drums...the bass, especially that little trumpet diddy...the guitar....I think this is one of Anthony Kiedis' better songs--vocally--i mean.

BUT my absolute favorite thing is the last verse...Keidis' lyrics "every little princess needs a crown/ make more of life, settle down" LOVE IT....AND I think this contains John Frusciante's most beautiful, melodic background vocals....they just entrance me.

Shoulda definitely been on Stadium Arcadium.

General Comment:This song is so sweet, obviously about someone he loves very much..
I think its basically just about all the cute and quirky things a girl does and how he's fallen in love with her because of it
