Lyrics for Star of Bethlehem as interpreted by nowisforever

Star of Bethlehem Lyrics
(What are you waiting for?)
(She's scared...She's a star...Across the nightime sky)

Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh.

The snow, has come down, on top of everything,
The town, was alive and well without you. (She's scared)
The lights, they peer out, of the leafless trees,
And you won't, be alone, I am beside you.

Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh.

(True love)
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
The light is the sign that love will guide you home.
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
If the world were to die, the light would guide you.

Tears, spilling out, across a dead end street,
Your house, is a lonely box that holds you.
The star, bright and loud, is in dire need,
Of the fear, that is an empty fear inside you.

Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh,
Yo eh, oh eh, oh eh, oh eh.

(True love)
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
The light is the sign that love will guide you home.
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
If the world were to die, the light would guide you.

The stars in the sky illuminate below,
The light is the sign that love will guide you home.
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
If the world were to die, the light would guide you.

True love,
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
The light is the sign that love will guide you home.
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
If the world were to die, the light would guide you.

The stars in the sky illuminate below,
The light is the sign that love will guide you home.
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
If the world were to die, the light would guide you.

(True love)
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
The light is the sign that love will guide you home. (True love)
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
If the world were to die, the light would guide you.

(True love)
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
The light is the sign that love will guide you home. (True love)
The stars in the sky illuminate below,
If the world were to die, the light would guide you.

(She's a star)

Ok, this song was released on the Kevin and Bean album WITHOUT the long intro, so no need to discuss it. Now this is a wonderful song (although repetitive again), truly hitting the epic sound that Tom reaches for. My only question is, what the heck does this have to do with Christmas?

'Foundation4life' i think it was in the Christmas album as it must have some meaning to christmas as the title "Star of Bethleham" suggests. The star was the guide that led the 3 kings to jesus on his birth in bethleham. The lyrics say this but it related to love or sumshit: "The stars in the sky illuminate below, The light is the sign that love will guide you home."

well thats how I interpret that.

This is the best Christmas music I've ever heard........mostly because it's not about Christmas.

The song is about love, and coming home to the one you care about.

i think this song would be a lot more beautiful if it didnt take a song that should have been about Jesus (obviously) and make it about some girl...blah.

Yes, but that is the fundamental weakness of Angels and Airwaves. The music is so epic and the lyrics should be about something bigger. Sometimes the relationship analogy just seems forced.

yes, i agree. even in the war, the lyrics force in the relationship analogy which is annoying considering the topic of the song.

but i think most of the lyrics have to do with christmas. the true love and light are a reference to god/jesus guiding you home

It gets a bit repetitive near the end, but a cool song nonetheless.

The whole thing with writing music, and i speak from experience, is that no matter what you try to write about whatever's on your mind eventually comes out, and i fyou've ever been in love you know that that person is ALWAYS on your mind.

His intentions in writing the song are Christmas-y, but he's obviously thinking about someone. Or he's thinking from another person's point of view, but his feelings are portrayed through that person, although unintended.

i don't know what the deal is with the song being released without the intro but that's shit. If you want to say that you truely love star of bethlehem then you need to love the whole song! The intro is beautiful! this song tells a story and i think that the intro plays a part in that story. FIGHT FOR THE INTRO!

This song is so much better than the majority of WDNTW. I agree that the lyrics needed to be deeper, if they're attempting to sound so epic. The intro debate... I think that eventually the song sounds so much like Where the Streets Have No Name by U2. I think this is my bigest problem with AVA... they seem to be somewhat of a rip off in their basic sound. Hopefully they branch out from the U2-esque sound. Good song though. I'll take +44 any day though, but that just me.

Ok...how could the intro be a debate? The song doesn't fucking start when the lyrics start. We clearly as a society have lost touch with the beauty of music. The kind of music that is not described through words, but more by the feeling you have when you here just music. Yes, i realize that the intro into AVA's Star of Bethlehemis not exactly a Mozart Symphony...however it is still an important part of the song. if you have ever appreciated any pink floyd....i assume that you did not skip all of the intros. What ever happend to taking time to appreciate every part of the song?

"If the world were to die, the light would guide you."

Clearly a reference to Jesus Christ (the Light) who will guide you through life. It makes perfect sense to me. Reminds me of their references in A Little's Enough.

What a great song!

i agree with canYOUhearmeouthere 100%!!

the intro adds so much more to the song! i really like the long intros they have. it makes the songs sound epic unlike other songs by bands that are rushed through and finish in 2 minutes and thats the end.

canYouhearmeouthere, you have an excellent point. I think that too many people have lost touch with music. That's why there are so little instrumental or jam bands anymore. People just don't have the attention span to hear great music. And like some said, the intro isn't Mozart but it fits the song and I happen to think is amazing.
