i think its about wanting to tell someone you love them but you can't. either an actualy letter or like metaphorically. its such a cutie song x

i agree with you jenny_magic. especially when he says "Amongst the crowd a heart will break and a heart will mend" makes sense. i really like angus' voice, extremely unique, he is preety easy on the eye too.

Angus said not long ago that he wrote this song because a girl used to write him letters all the time, but he never wrote back to her.

Not nice, I suppose... but I mean, you couldn't NOT forgive him! He's too adorable!

I love this song, the first of theirs i've heard and it's so beautiful. His voice has that airiness of Elliott Smith and even Drake....very easy on the ears...but the song is quite powerful. I like...

If Angus did say what ~gracie~ said, then this song definetly makes sense. But the ending confuses me. Maybe he eventually did write this girl a letter, but It didn't get to her?

caitlynnicoleee - in the version i have he says something before the music starts, (is that what your talking about??) n it sounds like he is talking to another person in the recording studio.. 'n we'll leave.. i'll just nod to you on it".. does that sound right at all?? :S i'm not sure. ??

it could just mean what it says, he throws a letter out that he wrote to someone, but somebody else picked it up and well the lost it, but its out their somewhere on her way to her?

To me it means that he never thought he was the guy for her, neither was the garbage man. but one day she will find the right person?

I think it's about a love song, or even a lyric that he wrote for someone but simply screwed it up and it never made it.

Simple to me really. Nothing really hidden in the lyrics.

Boy likes girl. Doesn't know how to tell her. Writes a letter addressed to girl. He tells his friends about it and tells them he is too chicken to deliver it. He is going not going to give the letter to her, but the letter fall from his hand and is carried by the wind to the girl. Naturally (since this song takes place in a fantasy world) the girl will love him back... and Happily Ever After

I think it basically means that there is generally alot of pain and emotional trauma before somebody finds Mr/Mrs right. The song explains that love 'hasn't flown the seven seas to you, but its on its way'

I heard this song for the first time today and immediately fell in love with it.
And I don't know if it's just me but does anyone else think the guitar sounds similar to the intro of Kings of Leon's "Knocked Up"? I know it's a stretch, but it's the first thing I thought.

And holy shit, Angus is GORGEOUS. So is Julia.

does anyone know what angus says at the very start of the song? just before the drum softly kicks in

its something like "and we'l live, i just wont do it" (thats not right) im just curious if anyone knows what he says, u know?
