Brazil
When hearts were entertained in June
We stood beneath an amber moon
And softly whispered 'some day soon'

We kissed and clung together
Then
Tomorrow was another day
The morning found me miles away
With still a million things to say

Now
When twilight beams the skies above
Recalling thrills of our love
There's one thing I'm certain of

Return I will
To old Brazil

General Comment:I've never heard kate's version, but I have a Arcade Fire version of it and I love their rendition of it it's a beautiful song.

According to wikipedia it's the english translation of a Brazilian folk song, "Aquarela do Brasil."

Strangely enough, the Arcade Fire cover is listed, the Kate Bush one is not.

General Comment:What I always imagine with this song is something set back in the past, in Brazil, with two people - one who is travelling, one who is native - meeting and falling in love. Unfortunately the traveller had to leave, but they vowed to come back together some day soon. And now many years have passed, and the traveller is now older ('when twilight beams the skies above'), and they have not seen each other since then, but the love remains. The traveller still dreams of someday returning to Brazil for his/her love.
