Maybe its about moving away and changing and then coming back to someplace that doesn't really recognize you anymore. With the lyrics like:
"And then one more year
Becomes one more year
And you'll forget me soon, I fear"
and
"And when I arrive
My god, you'll be surprised
By all the lines that changed"

I have no idea what the hotel radios mean.

he's on tour. he left her behind. the hotel radios are form him staying in hotels on the road.
he's speculating about what happens when touring takes him back to where she is, the bit about forgetting the hotel radios and driving home is exactly what it sounds like - part of him at least wants to ditch the road life and go home with her.
clarify things at all laffz?
