This Is How I Disappear Lyrics
Go!
To unexplain the unforgivable drain all the blood,
and give the kids a show.
By street like this dark night, a seance down below,
there's things that I have done,
you never... should ever know!

And without you is how I disappear
and live my life alone forever now.
And without you is how I disappear
and live my life alone forever now.

Who walks among the famous living dead,
drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed.
And if you could talk to me, tell me if it's so,
that all the good girls go to heaven.
Well heaven knows

That without you is how I disappear
and live my life alone forever now.
And without you is how I disappear
and live my life alone forever now.

Can you hear me cry out to you,
words I thought I'd choke on, figure out.
I'm really not so with you anymore; I'm just a ghost.
so I can't hurt you anymore,
so I can't hurt you anymore!

You wanna see how far down I can sink, let me go, FUCK!!
So you can, well now so you can
I'm so far away from you,
Well now so you can

And without you is how I disappear,
and without you is how I disappear

Forever, Forever now!

I saw on the other post that this was written about Gerad's break up with Bert and I thought it was so funny but also fits the song , so here it goes

Go!
If you won't explain the unforgivable drain all the blood,
and give the kids a show.
by street light this dark night, a seance down below,
there's things that I have done,
you never...should ever know!
***This fits so well, because he is telling they're through, now Bert that couldn't explain things out shall continue giving the kids a show, but Gerard takes part of the blame because he says he have done things he'd never know... so maybe the break up is for the best***

And without you is how I disappear
and live my life alone forever now.
And without you is how I disappear
and live my life alone forever now.
***Its a goodbye statement, they both go their way***

Who walks among the famous living dead,
drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed.
And if you could talk to me, tell me if it's so,
that all the good girls go to heaven.
Well heaven knows
***This is the most fitting part of the song, Who walks among the famous living dead?Bert does, he is not as famous so, he walks among famous "living dead" meaning not so famous ppl also, drowns all the boys and girls is an explicit sentence about the person he's talking about, that is Bert's bisexuality, and now, it seems like the break up came from this behaviour he couldn't explain at first... Now, the sentence: if you could talk to me, tell me if its so that all the good girls go to heaven, means that they no longer speak to each other, but if they were to, maybe he could tell Gerard if all the girls (meaning Bert as the woman in the relationship) go to heaven? Well, heaven knows..***

Can you hear me cry out to you,
words I thought I'd choke and figure out.
I'm really not so with you anymore
I'm just a ghost
so I can't hurt you anymore,
so I can't hurt you anymore!
***This means that maybe he tried to apologize but that wasn't enough, they're not together although there's no apparent reason for it "I'm really not so with you anymore" even when they're both around the scene.. but he has become a ghost to Bert, once again maybe, for the best so he can't hurt him anymore.***

Now you wanna see how far down
I can sink,
let me go,
FUCK!!
Now you can well now so, you can
I'm so far away from you
well now so, you can

And without you is how I disappear,
and without you is how I disappear
***He wants to prove Bert that even they're done, he will go on, despite he wanna see him fall down and sink in the scene***

I know this might seem a bit twisted from the song but it all fits in, and really, its way more interesting than trying to fit the damn so called patient in here where that is not necessary.. It's become to the point where everything has to do with him one way or another.
The patient is dying, oh wait, but maybe he went to war in Mama, no wait, he is dying from Cancer, but now he's telling everyone to fuck off in this song, and he had a girlfriend who cheated on him in the Sharpest Lives c'mon ppl that makes no sense .

how does that not make any sense? the point is, he is dying from cancer. and then, as he's dying, his life flashes before his eyes. Going to war, The cheating, Everything is in his past. It makes perfect sense, if you understand what the band is trying to say.

Yeah the patient makes sense, and I think it's a bit more likely since that is the theme of the concept album from the mouth of Gerard, and I don't think him and Bert were ever *actually* going out, I saw a clip of Gerard talking about it. Long story short, Chemotherapy is right.

These aren't the right lyrics either!
These are:

Okay, I have to say it is a certain tragedy that there aren't more comments on this damn good song!!

I think daq_102 did a good job analysing this song here... This is really a hard one, but even though it is hard to clear up the meaning of the whole song together i think each line is so amazing... My fav i think of the album... It's hard to pick one though, there are so many great songs on the black parade...

And if you could talk to me, tell me if it's so,
that all the good girls go to heaven.
Well heaven knows

This one makes me go crazy!! And so does the bridge... Gaaa, im glad this band exists:D

this is definitaly not a song about the ''break up'' between (the FRIENDSHIP) of bert and Gerard...
It doesnt really make sense..

It is about the patient .. and when he dies.. as many of you already has said :P

This is one of my fave song of the album..!!

Well, this is what I have to say:
Other people have other opinions, and in this case, dag_102 and chemotherapy are right. They both do have good statements about the song. The album is about this The Patient, but it also makes sense about Gerard and Bert's (friendship) separating.
Well, that's just what I had to say. But I guess it depends on the person. :S

The Patient is a facade. to make it easier for Gerard to portray his issues in the songs.

any song on the album could be applied to the Patients story, as could any of them be interpretted in a completely different way.
you see what you want to see.

I 100% agree with _dilemma_. Gerard admits himself that most all of these songs were written before the concept of a black parade and a patient ever came to him (it's in his introduction to the book in the limited edition). Meanings of the songs are just twisted to fit that - that's why it's so hard to make sense of it as all belonging to the Patient storyline. Still don't believe me?

"As we tracked the story got tighter and tighter but also I noticed the layers started to strip away, the fiction and metaphor of everything started to fade and what was left by the end of the record was something very naked, something very honest and very obvious...We were these characters. It was our story we were telling." - Gerard Way, from the introduction to The Making the Black Parade LE book.

I had heard before that early in writing, this song started out being about Houdini's wife after his death and how she held seances trying to contact him.

I think the final song is about the death of a relationship. I really think the lines "things that I have done you never should ever know" and "drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed" imply cheating. "I'm just a ghost" doesn't mean he's acutally dead, he's just "not so with" the person anymore physically/mentally.

I wont go into detail, but this song is from Houdini's wifes perspective on everything going on after he died. Just read through the lyrics and youll understand, "Seance" and "Drowning" bieng key words if you know anything about Houdini and his wife lol

Before listening to this album I would agree that MCR is emo crap, but after giving it a try (after the 100s of rave reviews) Id say this album isnt really emo.. maybe a couple songs, including this one...but if I had never heard MCR before I would say this was more of a numetal band than a punk band

hey, stoner4life. Just because you don't understand what a band is trying to say in their music (and if they happen to show emotions, god forbid, on a record) doesn't mean you have the right to blast a band you've probally never sat down and listened to in the first place.

After all, Everything Ends from slipknot (a fucking kick ass band) is about a fucked up relationship that went to shit. So under your generization wouldn't that make slipknot emo?

Ok, so I was listening to this the other day, and it dawned on me - this song is about religion/God/Jesus. Although Gerard isn't much of a religious figure, neither am I, think about that while listening/reading the lyrics...

Without God is How I Disappear, and live my life alone forever now...

God walks among the famous living dead, drowns all the boys and girls inside their bed.
If you could talk to me, tell me if it's so that all the good girls go to HEAVEN now...

"Can you hear me cry out to you?", "There's things that I have done you should never know". And then he's talking to someone after death, "I'm really not with you anymore, I'm just a ghost". (the seance)

I have one thing to sya to 'Stoner4life'
You must open you mind my hate-filled friend!!
And MCR are musical geniuses.. dont diss them, even if you dont like their music.. You are allowed to not like it, but you dont need to get into saying personal remarks about them..
This song is cool.. not my favourite off TBP but all of them are good in their own ways..

thats what i like about MCR songs.. they are never the same as each other, and i rekon all of them are good enought to be released as singles.. it must be hard for them to choose which ones they release

I've heard people say that TBP was bad...but im glad i didnt listen to those people cuz this CD is amazing. i bought it a couple days after it came out, and i still thinks its the smartest CD purchase i have ever made. This song is somewhere in my top 15 but the holder of number 1 will always be "Thank You For the Venom" in my mind...but then there are other songs that are as good as that one, so its really hard to pick. This CD is hard to pick from, since all the songs are good.

I do think it's about him and The Used lease singer Bert McCracken and their falling out. It had to have had some impact being they were best friends.

"To unexplain the unforgivable drain all the blood,
and give the kids a show."
My have been in reference to the incident where Bert fell while performing on stage during a performance of "On My Own"and was rushed to a hospital and diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.

"Who walks among the famous living dead,
drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed.
And if you could talk to me, tell me if it's so,
that all the good girls go to heaven.
Well heaven knows
"
the boys and girls inside your bed is in reference to the rumor Bert is bisexual (dated kelly Osbourne girl wise) and rock stars having reputations for being premiscious, is another reason why the lyrics says" all the drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed". The famous living dead lyric is in reference to once again Bert of The Used, collapsing while on stage performing "On My Own", and being rushed to the hospital as I have already referenced.

The great thing about TBP is that you can take it either as the Patient's story or as a metaphor for just regular life, so there really could be two interpretations for each song.

I think as far as the Patient's story goes, it's like he's dead and has come back as a ghost to walk the Earth and just kind of see everything.
The first verse is kind of like how he's done really bad things in his life and although people might miss him they really don't know what a bad person he is/sees himself as. The chorus is kind of self-explainatory.

I think the second verse is him seeing his old girlfriend, who maybe is bisexual because of the "boys and girls inside your bed" line, and kind of making a sarcastic comment on if she would go to heaven because she's not really a 'good girl'.

The b-section is kind of him saying that he's not there to mess things up anymore so she can live her life how she wants to [I think maybe that's a reference to her cheating on him when he was alive]. Then it's saying that now he's dead she can let him go and then his 'real' self, the one with the personal demons, will come out.

I think if you translate the song without the reference to the story of TBP it might very well be about Bert, though I don't think it's about an intimate relationship with him. The Sharpest Lives is kind of about Bert too, so maybe this one is.

i think it could be about Bert.
the patient was created after the songs were written and the story was made to fit around the lyrics to cover up their actual meanings.
but i dunno, it seems very intense if it is about their relationship, but then again we dont really know what happened. the lyrics berts written for the new album are also very intense and we 'know' some of those are about gerard: pretty handsome awkward.

It sounds to me like its about adoption. Like the persons fighting with who he is and how that girl would think of them. I say girl beacuse "do all the good girls go to heaven" and it makes more sense with girl.

this is a lazy form of my reasoning

GO!

To UN-explain the unforgivable, (talking about adoption)
Drain all the blood and give the kids a show.
By streetlight this dark night,
a séance down below.
There're things that I have done,
you never should ever know!
(To the daughter, parents like to keep things from there kids)

And without you is how I disappear,
and live my life alone forever now.
And without you is how I disappear,
and live my life alone forever now.
(Your children are the only thing you for sure have and if you give them up your alone)

Who walks among the famous living dead,
Drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed. (Daughter things of him)
And if you could talk to me,
tell me if it's so,
that all the good girls go to heaven. (Daughter again)
Well, heaven knows

that without you is how I disappear,
and live my life alone forever now.
And without you is how I disappear,
and live my life alone forever now.

Can you hear me cry out to you?
Words I thought I'd choke on figure out.
I'm really not so with you anymore. (His sadness about not having his child)
I'm just a ghost, (Daughter – feels like a ghost or a skeleton in the closet)
So I can't hurt you anymore,
So I can't hurt you anymore.
(She feels like seeing her hurts him and now she’s gone so she can’t)

And now, you wanna see how far down I can sink?
Let me go, fuck!
So, you can, well now so, you can
I'm so far away from you.
Well now so, you can.
(Her lashing out about everything)

And without you is how I disappear,
And without you is how I disappear,
Whoa whoa... (And without you is how I disappear)
Whoa whoa... (And without you... is how, is how, is how...)
Forever, forever now!
(Adoption is usually final)

You can also take it as a ex, but I’m wired so it sounds like he’s talking about adoption.
