My messenger in disguise
makes up for such short goodbyes
You can't come home again
Each time it's different
And the yards around your feet fall away while you're asleep

Each day, spend it with me now
All my time, spend it with me now
But each day spend it with you now
All my time, spend it with you now
But out here, no one can hear me
Out hear no one can hear me

My Opinion:I like this song. Once it get's to the melody chorus. It's kinda a long experimental song. It's kinda spooky.

General Comment:I have a vague feeling this song is about a guy who longs for his old home that really no longer exists. He had a time where he spent most of his time by himself but he was lonely then so he's now latched on to someone and created a new "home" but he knows its false.

    General Comment:On a Neck, On a Spit
(neck could refer to a guitar or other 'necked' instrument, I think 'spit' refers to the archaelogical, or a coastal landform, though it could refer to rotisserie style turning thoughts over again and again, especially since most animals on a spit are impaled through the neck... I am actually convinced that the intended message includes all of those meanings)

    My messenger in disguise
    (this song)
makes up for such short goodbyes
    (art has permanence)
    You can't come home again
    Each time it's different
(old adage: "you can never go home")
And the yards around your feet fall away while you're asleep
(when you're not paying attention, when you're not in the place, it dissapears, again referring to the types of spit mentioned above)

Each day, spend it with me now
All my time, spend it with me now
(the narrator spends all their time with themselves now)
But each day spend it with you now
All my time, spend it with you now
(but they wish for the object of the song)
But out here, no one can hear me
Out hear no one can hear me
(out where they're singing their message cannot be heard)

General Comment:This song makes me melt like so many others. Ed Droste and Daniel Rossen can produce some really moody pieces, this being one of my favorites.

The way this song climaxes at the end is just pure melancholy bliss, if that makes sense.

General Comment:=== And it almost sounds like he says something entirely different than "Out here no one can hear me." The emphasis he puts on the words is odd.

General Comment:--I just started thinking about this one as well, and it made me happy to think of the lines "Each day spend it with you now/All my time..." because he sounds happy, like he can finally be with whoever he's talking about, but I haven't really made sense of the "Out here no one can hear me."

it's a small change but it's accurate. he says "I", it's just very low and fast.

General Comment:I believe this song is about someone who longs for their lover, yet distance separates them and prevents them from being together the way the songwriter wants. The line "And the yards around your feet fall away while you're asleep" shows that the two are getting closer. When the tempo picks up, I think they are no longer separated and the narrator kind of feels like the lovers presence is overbearing. The writer feels as though he can't express himself the way he wants because of his lover's constant presence.

General Comment:Oh wait, figured it out. This song is a background song on some of the bumps on Adult Swim. I knew it sounded familiar!
