Lyrics for The End. as interpreted by LoveIsAMurderScene

The End. Lyrics
Now come one come all to this tragic affair
Wipe off that makeup- what's in is dispair
So throw on that black dress
Mix in with the lot
You might wake up and notice
You're something you're not

If you look in the mirror and don't like what you see
You can find out firsthand what it's like to be me
So gather 'round piggies and kiss this goodbye
I'd encourage your smile, I'll expect you won't cry

AHHHH! AHHHH! AHHHH! AHHHH!

Another contusion, my funeal jag
Here's my resignation, I'll serve it in drag
When I grow up I want to be nothing at all!
I said

YEAH! YEAH! I SAID- YEAH! YEAH!

C'mon c'mon c'mon I said
Save me!
Get me the hell out of here
Save me!
Too young to die and my dear
You can't!
If you can hear me just walk away and
Take me!

My chemical romance used to be a good band. Now they suck.People need to get lives and find actual good bands to listen to that aren't sell outs.Or atleast be a true fan and like the band when they aren't horrible.Likeing them now.and only know 1 or 2 songs.(the ones they play on the radio) just means your a poser.Or your just plain stupid. This music isn't good. And no it's not emo/screamo ot whatever else you'll call it.It's music that used to be good.

WTF!!! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!!! This Music is good !! and MCR are not sellouts!!!! ok, I'll admit that 3 cheers was my favorite album... but this is good too.... and no... it isn't emo/screamo or anything like that, it's rock, I even read a magazine that called it metal!!... if you don't like them, you don't have to listen to them!!!

It's basically sad.

I guess groups aren't able to evolve in certain terms. So much ridicule follows when they do so. I am sure I am not the only one who is tired of others writing about MCR's tragic downfall from "real music" to pop. Get Real. Learn how to spell. MCR can create whatever music they wish, and on their lastest, yet very sucessful album, they decided to create a new twist to their old music. If you don't like it as much as their previous albums... Wait for the next one to come out, unless you enjoy wallowing in your self-pity. If you are a real fan, you should be happy for MCR and their recent sucess, not sulk about how only posers listen to the same music you once worshiped.

Anyways, all in all, its a remarkable album, and I think the group is developing quite nicely... The lyrics are catchy, satisfying, and sometimes confusing, but who doesn't like searching for that hidden meaning? Good job MCR!

You said it, xFlare!!! Totally agree with you! That shit about tragic downfall, yeah. You got it all:)

How would you complaining people like it if every record were just the same as the last one? I imagine.

The only time a band is a sell out is if they stop caring and stop playing music for the fans. I don't think MCR is doing that so get over it.

Sorry, but since when was being a 'true fan' only liking a band when they're 'good'? Every band has a crappy song or album eventually, and it's the true fans who stick with them despite it! MCR have not sold out. They might eventually, but it hasn't hapened yet and from what I know of the guys, it won't be anytime soon. Just because they've gotten wellknown doesn't mean they sold out.

I know it's kind of annoying how some people just suddenly love the band yet only know Welcome To The Black Parade, but it's not hurting you is it? It just makes them look stupid. Point and laugh, if you must. Just leave the band alone, it's not their fault some fans are thick.

Anyway, rant over. I love this song, and I think I annoyed my friends when I kept singing the first few lines over and over again. :)

just to point this out: i thought this was talking about song meanings? nto talking about whether the band is god or if people are posers... and now to be a hypocrit: MCR kicks ass, they are an amazing band, and there new album is incredible, i agree with what people above said about sticking with a band whether they have a bad album or a good album, and i dont think this is a bad album, its just a different kind of album, there music and style has changed a bit, just because its different doesnt mean its bad, if you dont like that you never were and never will be a true fan.... and you can fuck yourself :D and people arent posers cause they started liking the band weith this album, they may just not have heard about them before now, or they like this newer music better..how the hell does that make tem posers?

HEY, what ever happenend to finding the meaning of the song? well, i think that its a funeral, its the end, it has to do with the story, first the guy dies, then, well, i dont know how most of it goes. he is saying through on the black dress mix in with the lot, whitch is the people at his funeral, all wearing black. the dead person doesnt want them all to sad for them, and wants them to be happy, when he says'ill encourage your smiles, i expect you wont cry', .

I personally have always thought of this song to be about realizing you've been pretending to be "someone you're not." Therefore, you've ended your true self. I very well could be wrong, but it's how I've looked at it.

On a note on the previous comments... Here is my own comment to be added:
I believe it's fine to say if you like or dislike the music. That's fine. However, should you say "omgz it sux cuz itz 2 manestreem!11one" or "OMFG U EMO!!!11"... or "i haet rap!!1" and leave your message at that... should be unacceptable. At least give a valid reason for disliking the song. (By the way - I most certainly dislike rap and I love rock... So I'm trying not to be too biased here.)

Extra note:
Emo is a label usually associated with people who hate their lives and want to die. MCR is the complete opposite of "wanting to die." On the other hand, their style can be called "emo." I'm just stating they're probably NOT the kind of band that believes in teenagers whining about their crappy lives and cutting themselves when the kids are rich and loved by everyone.

I'm standing up for the band that has made me love life like a hippie.

So anyway...

Has anybody else noticed how much this song sounds like "In The Flesh?" by Pink Floyd?

I noticed that too. To me it sounds like a combination of the songs "In The Flesh?" (the opening song of the Pink Floyd album "The Wall") and "Five Years" (the opening song of the David Bowie album "Ziggy Stardust.") I think Gerard Way just ran out of ideas on how to write opening lyrics for an album and simply decided to skim off the top. But he has admitted that Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Queen are huge influences on MCR.

well i think this song is about a funeral too, hence the title the end. I love the "i encourage your smiles.. I expect you wont cry" bit. It also seems that the patient doesnt want people to worry about his death and to move on with their lives.

And one more thing to those people leaving comments on here saying that MCR are shit, well if you dnt like them then why the hell are you on this site to beging with. Deep down you must or you wouldnt have come here to start with.

Yer the posers are annoying but get over it. Its the true fans that count! i went to their concert and had to stand next to these 2 little 13 year old girls who were worrying about taking photos and filming them on their phone the whole time. They were only there so they can say to their friends "like omg like i went and seem My chemical romance like yeah" their def werent real fans just teeny boppers, but no way did i let them spoil my time cos i was there to watch MCR not to worry about wat other poeple think.

I think this song is about a guy that is dead and is watching his funeral. He sees all these people who really never liked him but and aren't really there for him. I think the line "I'd encourage your smile, I'll expect you won't cry" is saying that its ok for them to smile because he knows they never cared and he didn't expect them to cry anyway. Ok, so this was just my shot in the dark guess at the meaning of this song.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I think there is an error in the lyrics above.

"Well I cut his hair AND myself one night"
...I just went back and listened again, and I do believe that "and" is in there, which changes the song completely for me, because not only did she hurt him, but she hurt herself.

"And he told me that I'd done alright...," etc is him comforting her through both of their pain.

I don't think she is referring directly to samson and delilah, but instead that she is using her experience to refer to a man that she thought of as perfect as samson. I can totally relate, because to me she is saying something is wrong with HER, and thus she takes it out on Samson, and then is accepted for it.

He is her sweetest downfall in that she can "fall" and he is there... so it is a fall from grace, but one into which she can collapse and still be loved. I think it's a song of ultimate love and redemption through the eyes of someone else.

The part about "we couldn't bring the columns down" refers to her own issues. He can't fix them for her, and whatever is "wrong" with her is permanent. Not fixable by any man, no matter how strong.

And history books forgot about us... simply because history no longer takes notice of great love stories. If she was truly referring to the bible verse, that line wouldn't be there... in my opinion.

this sounds just like bowie's 'five years' opening song from the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars. this is probably why the rumour about the abulm being called 'the rise and fall of my chemical romance' came about.

um, any of you who are saying my chemical romance is a sell-out;;
why are you even posting it? people who comment should be people who actually like their music... not for people to complain that they are a "sell out". just because this album isn't your favorite or whatever, you don't have to bitch & moan about it on here.

three cheers for sweet revenge or whatever their older album is called (don't yell at me, i'm not a fan of theirs so i don't know the correct titles and whatnot) is definately better. this one hasn't attached to me as well yet and i've had it since january. so that's saying something. it's funny how bands are the shit earlier on and then they become bigger and they start losing their touch. ironic how people like the stuff they made when they weren't as famous...

They're punk. They sing about deeper things than emo songs.
And the song is about a funeral.
I like how the first song is called The End. It woulda been cool if "WTTBP" was last.
