    General Comment:So I was wondering if the song isn't just that he doesn't know how to tell her he loves her, or how to write a love song...it's more that he doesn't know how to tell her he loves her without it sounding too impersonal and cliched - hence the lines about tired cliches.

    I feel the same about my good lady - I can tell her I love her all day long, but it isn;t anything new and individual. He wants a way of expressing he loves her at such a depper level than he can manage with the standard "I love you like a ....
