I’m chaos international
The writing on the wall
A Lazarus in parable

A dark and sullen lullaby
Whispered softly as you die
Promising torments are nigh

Danger warning levels hissed out loud
I saw the silver lining hidden in a mushroom cloud
Now I’m reeling from the shock at ground zero

If yesterday you would have stood up proud
Then why tonight have you thrown in with the stoning crowd?
I’ll breathe through the foetus of a new day kicking…

The foetus of a new day kicking

It’s true that Jesus cannot save
I worship from the grave
To put my double cross to shame

A poison rush, a heart attack
A white assassin painted black
You’ll fear this reaper coming back

Danger warning levels hissed out loud
I saw the silver lining hidden in a mushroom cloud
Now I’m reeling from the shock at ground zero

If yesterday you would have stood up proud
Then why tonight have you thrown in with the stoning crowd?
I’ll breathe through the foetus of a new day kicking…

On a night like this
You lay the serpent’s kiss
In this garden of Gethsemane
You played the traitor well…

In a dawn to come
I will blind the sun
To grant you pardon as my enemy
Before damning you to hell…

Danger warning levels hissed out loud
I saw the silver lining hidden in a mushroom cloud
Now I’m reeling from the shock at ground zero

If yesterday you would have stood up proud
Then why tonight have you thrown in with the stoning crowd?
I’ll breathe through the foetus of a new day kicking

General Comment:the one line that sticks out in my mind here is i saw the silver lining hidden in a mushroom cloud and as much metaphor as filth uses i believe he really meant that the nuke is our saving grace because it would get rid of society as we know it and force us to start anew and repave our way through life and time

and i say that first part because of the many religious references present in this song like some1 mentioned there is a lot, more than usual, of them present and to me says these religions or ideals need to leave us before we can advance from our industrial, political, and worldly stand still

General Comment:what isn't fun about american bashing? anyways, "its true that jesus cannot save, im rising from the grave" Jesus did rise from the grave after 3 days, and he also caused lazarus to come back from the dead

General Comment:It means exactly what it says, and American bashing is kinda funny considering this where cradle gets most their business or at least will. Anyhow, ground zero is a name consistently used for 9/11 and Daniel always uses current symbolism which he added in the meaning. Obviously he uses religious topics and topics about war recently the song meaning is a little bit of everything. But what it means is far from the symbolism he's using. And not all Americans only care about America.

General Comment:before I get accused of being American, I'm not. i'm actually south african and live in south africa. i think there could be some reference to 9\11 due to the ground zero line, not only that, but "I saw a silver lining hidden in a mushroom cloud" the mushroom cloud would most probably refere to some sort of war, the silver lining, either the plane or the building in the smoke cloud. I'm just taking a long shot and that part probably has fuck all to do with 9\11. one thing I can say is poetry is open to interpretation and you can see it anyway as long as you can justify it. so even though dani gives the meaning of the song, he's giving his meaning, and others might see it in a different way

General Comment:mcnuggetpie: What makes you think that xwretchedxairx is even American? Or are you just looking for an excuse to whine about how much Americans suck? If you are going to jump on a soapbox, then know what you are talking about (especially if your arguement is irrelevant, like it is now).

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but it says "I'm rising from the grave."

General Comment:the only reason everyone's comparing it to 9/11 is because of the mention of "ground zero". ground zero isnt an exclusive title to 9/11.
