Lyrics for Blood/Hidden track as interpreted by MCRluver17

Blood/Hidden track Lyrics
Well they encourage your complete cooperation
Send you roses when they think you need to smile
I can't control myself because I don't know how
And they love me for it honestly I'll be here for a while

So give them blood, blood
Gallons of the stuff
Give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough
Give them blood, blood, blood
Grab a glass because there's going to be a flood.

A celebrated man amongst the gurneys
They can fix me proper with a bit of luck
The doctors and the nurses they adore me so
But it's really quite alarming cause I'm such an awful fuck (why thank you!)
I gave you blood, blood
Gallons of the stuff
I gave you all that you can drink and it has never been enough
I gave you blood, blood, blood
I'm the kind of human wreckage that you love!

Ella de la Noche said this song is based on an old song called Rum. Who is that by, I'd like to read the lyrics?

This song reminds me so much of my job. I'm a phlebotomist (the person who comes and draws your blood all day and night) and the patients are always complaining about how much blood we take at my hospital. It should totally be our theme song for the Phlebotomy Department. So true to form!

I think this song may sound a little funny, such as, "'cause I'm such an awful fuck... (why thank you!)" but I don't think the true meaning is all that funny, really... at least part of it isn't. I think it's about Gerard... the way he feels about the pressure of being a celebrity. Let me clarify:

"Well they encourage your complete cooperation
Send you roses when they think you need to smile
I can't control myself because I don't know how
And they love me for it honestly I'll be here for a while"

...they (they meaning - some, not all of - the fans and the media) want him to cooperate; to do and say whatever they think he should do, and they try to do do him a favor when they feel like he's not acting their way. The fans, maybe, love that he's "slightly off-center" so he'll stay, no matter how much crap he gets from some people.

"So give them blood, blood
Gallons of the stuff
Give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough
Give them blood, blood, blood
Grab a glass because there's going to be a flood."

..."blood" is a metaphor for songs, albums, videos, interviews, whatever. The media asks for everything he's got and more, and he gives it, but they still ask him to do more and more.

"A celebrated man amongst the gurneys
They can fix me proper with a bit of luck
The doctors and the nurses they adore me so
But it's really quite alarming cause I'm such an awful fuck (why thank you!)"

...this part actually makes me laugh. He's saying that, really, it's gonna be veeeerrrryyy hard to "fix me proper" and to make him be like everyone else, because, truthfully, he isn't. The doctors and the nurses are the fans, and he kind of finds it ironic that "they adore me so" because he, in his own humbled opinion, he is not who you would think someone would look up to. I actually think, though, that "such an awful fuck" might not be what HE thinks about himself but more what some other people think about him, and he just laughs and spits it back in their faces because he doesn't really care what they think. ("Why thank you!")

"I'm the kind of human wreckage that you love!"

... Human wreckage... well... I think he sees himself, maybe, as having a really dark personality with fucked-up thoughts, you know? And the fans (including me XD) love him for it.

I think this song has, basically, two sides: the side where he's kind of bitter about people wanting him to do more and more, while the other side is just him finding it really funny that he, who was an outcast for most of his life, is suddenly admired and loved by all these people. I think he finds it oddly ironic and probably really funny.

This song is so funny. it kina sounds to me like it's about a loopy guy who constantly dones blood and doesn't fully grasp what it is exactly the doctors do with it, thinking that they're actually blood-drinkers. I don't think I'm that far off seeing as the whole album has the whole "the patient" theme. But that's just the way I see it. I guess it could also have a deeper meaning, like the pressure and demand of the music industry, but I like the wacky explanation better.

Well, i have always thought that this song is about MCR's fans.
"Blood" referring to their music.
"Doctors and the Nurses" referring to us (their fans)
"the Patient" is then (MCR)

"The doctors and the nurses they adore me so"
Saying how the fans love them.

"But it's really quite alarming cause I'm such an awful fuck (why thank you!)"
Even though for all we know they could be fucks.

"So give them blood, blood"
They give a us lots of music.

And the rest is pretty much self explanatory.

I wanna learn this on piano, but I don't know where to get it...
WHY DID EVERYONE STOP COMMENTING???
I feel so alone...

Yeah I agree with vamb. MCR is giving their fans their music and their fans keep asking for more and more and more... that sounds wrong.

well i think gerard is trying to metaphorically trying to say how fame and being a celebrity really is, like the fans need more more more of everything they just cant get enough, like the fans are "blood suckers" and when he says the doctors and the nurses, its like the people who cater to celebs, they love them, they rave about them, even though they dont see how really they are "awful fuck"

but in the end no matter what he does it will never be enough
