Lyrics for Teenagers as interpreted by A Red Hotel

Teenagers Lyrics
They gonna clean up the looks,
With all the lies in the books
To make a citizen out of you
Because they sleep with a gun
And keep an eye on you son
so they can watch all the things you do

Because the drugs never work
They gonna give you a smirk
'Cus they've got methods of keeping you clean
Their gonna rip up your heads,
Your aspirations to shreds,
Another cog in the murder machine

They said all
Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
Someone will bleed
So dock in your clothes,
Or stike a violent pose,
Maybe they'll leave you alone
But not me

The boys and girls in the clique,
The awful names that they stick,
Your never gonna fit in much kid
But if your troubled and hurt,
What you got under you shirt,
Will make em pay for things that they did!

They said now
Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
Someone will bleed
So tuck in your clothes,
I'll strike a violent pose,
Maybe they'll leave you alone
but not me
whoa yeah!

They said now

Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
Someone will bleed
So tuck in your clothes,
I'll strike a violent pose,
Maybe they'll leave you alone
but not me

All together now!

Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me
They can care less as long as,
Someone will bleed
So tuck in your clothes,
I'll strike a violent pose,
Maybe they'll leave you alone
but not me

Teenagers scare,
The living shit out of me,
They can care less as long as,
Someone will bleed
So tuck in your clothes,
I'll strike a violent pose,
Maybe they'll leave you alone
but not me

totally satirizing teenagers and all the stupid things we do. Also pokes fun of the emo kids and their apparent need to dye their hair black and post self-taken pictures on their myspace. Good song, very different. Doesn't really sound like typical MCR stuff for sure. But I dig it

So this song is definitely about some pissed off misfit kid who's got a gun under his shirt, planning to blow away all the boys and girls in the clique.
I love it. Because I totally have a video of me dancing like an idiot to it. I might put it on youtube. That would be amazing.

Well. First of all. This song means a lot. It's actually about gun violence, in the form of a really sweet song. This song means a lot. Comprehend the lyrics.

I think that this song is about what teenagers do to each other, and that if your not just like them, or that if you don't scare them away, then theyll just kill you, i don't mean physically, i mean, that they will just rip you up and make your life miserable. That's just my opinion, but thats what i get from this song.

good song, in the top 5 of the album, cause it talks about how image conscious and sceney teenagers everywhere are, and how they can be the cause of a lot of social problems anxiety disorders people develope later in life
I personally prefer 'having a blast' though, much more simple and rocking

adults hate teenagers thats just the way it is, i think its cause they are jealous about losing their youth, but when you walk into a shop you can see the assistants watching you like they think you are about to shop lift , so
So darken your clothes,
Or stike a violent pose,
Maybe they'll leave you alone
but not me
is just telling teenagers to play along and scare them off, but nothing you ever do will scare MCR off they will be there for you no matter what. doesnt he just sound like the best big brother you could ever have. im in my last year of being able to call myself a teenager and i will miss it and this song will remind me when im an adult not to act that way

"The boys and girls in the clique,
The awful names that they stick,
Your never gonna fit in much kid
But if your troubled and hurt,
What you got under you shirt,
Will make em pay for things that they did!"

My thoughts : Well since Gerard was overweight as a kid I think it means how kids who are different are left out and made fun of. And i think

"What you got under you shirt,
Will make em pay for things that they did!"

means that he has a gun and he's gonna shoot them all and make them pay.

i think that this song is talking about older people being scared of teenagers. when they "say darken your clothes or strike a violent pose but not me" i always thought it was talking about the adults trying to scare kids into submission by looking really mean but that isnt what gerard does. when it says what you got under youre shirt... i always thought it meant that is what older people are driving teenages into shooting up there schools bc they are told they arent as good bc they dont fit in or they are diff. this is what i thought the song meant but im new to the theme game so dont know if im right or not.

i'm pretty sure that this song is about how gerard is getting old and he can't relate to teenagers anymore and how they solve their problems violently. that's what i heard. and does anyone know if this song is part of the whole story in TBP? cause it doesnt seem to...

I'm pretty sure that when it says "What you got under you shirt will make em pay for things that they did!" means the kid has a gun under his shirt. I'm pretty sure that is what they were going for...

The other day a guy was playing his iPod really loud with this song playing. He was a jock ... a football player, I knew that much. I just thought that was so ironic that this song is about those people who make fun of the losers get what's coming to them. So, I asked the guy if he had Cubicles on his ipod. He obviously had no idea what I was talking about, since he looked at me and said nothing.

Like I said. I'm just waiting for a kid to go to school with a hangun under his My Chemical Romance shirt, and do what this song's basically talking about.

Woo.
