(They're... They're these terrors. And it feels as if somebody was gripping my. They're these terrors. And it's like, it feels like as if somebody was gripping my throat. Like last night. They're not like tremors, they're worse than tremors. They're... They're these terrors. Like last night. They're not just tremors, they're worse than tremors. They're... They're these terrors. And it's like, it feels like as if somebody was gripping my throat, squeezing. And... It feels like as if somebody was gripping my throat.)

Some say now suffer all the children
And walk away a savior
Or a mad man and polluted
From gutter institutions
Don't you breathe for me
Undeserving of your sympathy
'Cause there ain't no way
That I'm sorry for what I did

And through it all
How could you cry for me?
'Cause I don't feel bad
So shut your eyes
Kiss me goodnight
And sleep
Just sleep
The hardest part is letting go of
Your dreams

A drink for the horror that I'm in
For the good guys and the bad guys
For the monsters that I've been
Three cheers for tyranny
Unapologetic apathy
'Cause there ain't no way
That I'm coming back again

And through it all
How could you cry for me?
'Cause I don't feel bad
So shut your eyes
Kiss me goodnight
And sleep
Just sleep
The hardest parts
The awful things that
I've seen

( Sometimes I see flames, and sometimes I see people that I love dying. And it's always...)
Just sleep
Just sleep
Just sleep
Just sleep
Just sleep
Just sleep

(And I can't... I can't ever wake up.)

General Comment:there are several songs on this album relating to being in a hospital, on his deathbed. sleep, dead, the end, cancer. last night i watched a rerun of thier preformance of the black parade in mexico. he said it was the last preformance of the black parade they were ever gonna do. after the last song he shouted 'the black parade is dead!' that saddened me. ive heard haters say that but hearing gererd say is crushingly saddening....

My Interpretation:Is it possible that the lyrics are from the perspective of what he dreams of, from the terrors themselves? Just an idea.

My Opinion:To me this song seems to be comparing real life to the horrors of Sleep Paralysis, which is probably what Frank was experiencing at night in the hotels.
When in sleep paralysis you experience horrible things because your body begins to get scared and starts to make things appear in front of you while you are awake that should be in your dreams. Sometimes it can feel like you are dying because it is painful at times and other times you see horrible and disturbing things.
Sometimes when you hear a loud noise or somebody moves your body you can wake up from sleep paralysis, thats what I picture the WAKE UP at the end being.

I dunno if I am right but that's what it seems like to me.

General Comment:This song really makes me think of the book "A Farewell to Arms"

He mentions sleeping a lot in that book.

If it's not what the song is about/based on it's DEFINITELY an inspiration.

General Comment:I always thought that it was about the Patirnt's flashbacks to his time as a soldier.

And now I just learned that the beginning recording is actually Gerard and... wow. I think it works either way, though.

Song Meaning:I always thought that this song had to do with the war or wars in general. If you imagine that he's talking about being drafted off into you know, WWII or Vietnam and knows he's going to die, or "sleep" forever. I always interpreted the voice on the tape recorder a soldier talking about being attacked by a terrorist and seeing people attacked and killed, maybe being terrified by it. I like the song better if I imagine it's about war. It's got a great meaning if you read the lyrics thinking about war. Try it.

My Interpretation:Somebody *probably* already said this, but I think that even though it's literally about the sleep-terrors that Gerard faced, it's more likely to relate to people with PTSD. Like, coming back from the war. And it fits in with the hospital theme of the album because if PTSD is severe enough, people are hospitalized (usually in a mental ward).

General Comment:Thought this song was to do with Mikey and his depression, when he would go sleep in Gerard's room at night while they were recording BP... could be wrong, though.

General Comment:This song actually makes me sleep. Not in a bad way, though! I mean... like the instruments and Gerard's voice and everything... it's just... beautiful... I feel like sleeping just thinking about it.
I remember listening to this in a hospital and I was just sitting there, waiting and falling... to... sleep...
    ...
    ...
    ...
    HA HA!

Are you sure that's Frank talking at the start? It sounds more like Gerard to me. Well, I don't really know Gerard so I could be wrong.

I think he's saying that he's done bad stuff in the past and he doesn't feel guilty about it, coz he got something good out of it anyway... I dunno.

Song Meaning:Actually, The song was written for Frank by Gerard. The whole hotel thing is true. It is actually Frank talking in the beggining, If you listen closely. Frank was having nightmares of people he loved dying, and he felt things at his thoat. Gerard wrote the song for him to help him go to sleep. How sweet XD
