As a kid I had the chicken pox
The German measles and the scarlet fever
And I don't ever want to go through that again

I had to tell my little broken heart
I had to tell it I'm immune to love
Because I don't ever want to go through that again

You can't have it once you've had it
You can't have it once you've had it
You can't have it once you've had it, no

General Comment:You two have pretty much nailed it I think. Anyway, it's a wonderfully bittersweet song and almost heart wrenching.

General Comment:I agree, Sydney. I used to think it said, "I had to tell it I'm immune to her." It gives it a little different sort of feeling with 'her' instead of 'love', even though it's not right.

General Comment:i think this is about how after you have your heart broken you might wish that love was like chicken pox: once you've had it, you can't have it again. you wish that once you've fallen in love you can't fall in love again. you don't want to go through the heart break again that you have felt.
