You can’t keep god off the radio
Don’t let him in
You can’t keep the devil from the media
Don’t let him in
There is always a salesman at the front door
Don’t let him in
The church is trying to peddle something much worse
Don’t let them in
What you see and what you believe are never going to be the same…

The spiders the monsters the demons the suggesting tapeworm
(You don’t like us do you? But you can’t find us can you?)
The spiders the monsters the demons the suggesting tapeworm
(You don’t like us do you? But you can’t find us can you?)
There is always a salesman there is always a sale
There’s a devil and a family on their knees tonight
The spiders the monsters the demons the suggesting tapeworm…
(You don’t like us do you? But you can’t find us can you?)…

General Comment:The meaning of this song is intertwined in the meaning of "Complete and Utter Confusion..."

"Complete and Utter Confusion..." talks about the influence of corporate America and controlling the media. The last lines of the song, "Tell me what it is you fear the most. We'll take it, adjust it, use it on the radio," mirror the first lines of "...As a Result of Signals Being Crossed."

"You can't keep God off the radio... You can't keep the devil from the media... The church is trying to peddle something much worse."

The signals being crossed are religion and the media.

Also, "The Always Open Mouth" is a concept album related to the degradation of society and its inevitable end.

General Comment:Okay I'm not hearing the "suggesting" part of "suggesting tapeworm" ..?
Great song though, lyrics are amazing.

Well they use ellipsis in the title and they're next to each other and the songs basically flow so I'd say its almost a two-part song.

General Comment:I always imagine that this song and "Complete and Utter Confusion" are somehow linked.

If you put both song titles together, it makes a little sense:

"Complete and utter confusion as a result of signals being crossed"

I dunno really what it has to do with the songs' meanings, but it's just something to think about. x

General Comment:yeah, the title is a dead giveaway when they bring up both the salesman(media) and the church(religion).

also, he brings up tapeworm, which is also brought up in a system of a down song. it's about the tapeworm controlling the mind and how one thinks. kind of like the media or religion being the tapeworm and controlling us.

General Comment:god damn this is a good song. I think its about how religion and corporation are intertwined (as a result of signals being crossed)

I just love the end part with the "There is always a salesman there is always a sale
There’s a devil and a family on their knees tonight" it sounds so awesome
