Take me to the place where the white boys dance.
Take me to the place where they run and play.
My baby is gone, you might have a chance.
Just take me to the place where the white boys dance.

They hug in silence,
As the sun sets.
On their empty street,
Their suspicions where they rise and hide.
And then who sweeps them off she doesn't leave.
She walks inside and
Pours a strong one.
Put her mind at ease.
It's the calm before another storm.
And the friendships from the whiskey to the keys.

Take me to the place where the white boys dance.
Take me to the place where they run and play.
My baby is gone, you might have a chance.
Just take me to the place where the white boys... dance.

Her heart is racing.
She phones a friend to say

I'm in an awful place.
That fools been messin' around on me
I've seen it in his eyes and on his face
Hold on a minute.
You're talking crazy
Don't be that jealous girl.
Just tell him you need an hour or two.
Cause we're going go and change somebodies world.

Take me to the place where the white boys dance.
Take me to the place where they run and play.
My baby is gone, you might have a chance.
Just take me to the place where the white boys dance.

It's the calm before another storm...
It's the calm before another storm
And the friendships from the whiskey to the keys.

Take me to the place where the white boys dance.
Take me to the place where they run and play.
My baby is gone, you might have a chance.
Just take me to the place where the white boys... dance.

General Comment:Luv Luv Luv this band. Brandon Flowers is ever so talented. Am still kicking myself for not going to his concert last summer...over $250 a ticket but worth it. 2013 will be the year I won't lose out again...good concerts statewide and Pitchfork. Already asking for my time off! As for the song, it's about wanting to dance the night away while meeting new people (opposite sex? same sex?) for an evening of fun. The lyrics seem to indicate the singer is jealous and he handles it by hooking up. However, I could be wrong. I just love listening to the Killers. Flowers could sing the alphabet and I'd be a happy lil' clam.

General Comment:in my opinion singers have all freedom to "tell stories", people tend to identify these foretold stories as if they were part of artist's life for real, that might not be the case sometimes. it could be based on some real fact, heard from friends, or maybe the ambiance he recalls from a film, so on. singers are creative spirits, they have this freedom to do much things even personify other genders, represent characters, so in my opinion that shouldn't be taken as if they're necessarily talking about themselves (indeed most do, but that's not necessary the case always) - that restricts one creative potential somewhat, in my opinion.

to conclude, whether it's about Brandon sexuality or not isn't important for me, I wouldn't dislike or like his musics better if it was the case.

General Comment:This song is like a story, he's talking about A girl and A guy who is cheating on her with A-nother guy, it doesn't have anything to do with HIM(Brandon).

But still, I don't doubt he's bisexual, I mean in the Hot Fuss days he wore make-up, and not like a punk or a rocker,(just a some eyeliner)no, he wore maskara and lip gloss too:P And I've heard so many times that 'Andy You're A Star' is about a guy he had a crush on in high school. Apperantly the guy was on the football team..something like that.

I don't know though, and I honestly don't care if he's straight or bisexual, but I don't beleive he's gay. He could alsow just be very metrosexual, I like that:D It's so hot when men dress well and different:)

General Comment:ok so the song is about a girl who knows tht her boyfriend is cheating on her (don't know if with a girl or guy, and to tell the truth, does it really matter?) and she goes to get a drink. as this is happening, you can tell she's about to do something crazy, or something she might regret. An idea began hatching, and her thoughts shifted "from her whiskey to her keys." She calls her friend to get reassurance, and to get her to keep her from do doing whatever it is she's half-planning to do. But instead, her friend eggs her on. So they do out to the city and hook up. She tells the random guy that he "might have a chance" if he takes her around town to clubs, etc. I think the man who she doesn't meet is either the man he's cheating on her with or the friend/boss/whatever that he's using as an excuse to get away. Just because Brandon sings about stuff like that doesn't mean anything. People can write about anything they can imagine. I don't think the Decemberists were ever eaten by a whale, or JK Rowling went to a ~*magical*~ school... and if he is gay or bi or whatever, why does that matter?

ps what are the songs in the Murder Triology? Ive never heard of this...

    General Comment:UMMMM PRETTY SURE IT'S...

Just tell THE BOY you need an hour or two
'Cause we’re gonna go and change somebody’s WORK

WHY would flowers just pull out a persons name LEVON??? when the whole song uses words, him her boy girl me you i'm friend baby.

The song is obviously about a boy who cheats, or is suspected of cheating, on a girl, NOT ANYTHING TO DO WITH FLOWERS BEING GAY!!!!????

    Thankyou.

General Comment:this song is about a black couple. Levon is the man cheating on the girl in the song. It is through the POV of the female character.

Her suspicions, well they’re rising high. And the man who sweeps him off she doesn’t meet.
the suspicions are what the sweeping off is in reference to. Her suspicions are getting higher and she wants them to be swept away, and the man is levon. i think he may be saying them not him, or 'em. Brandon is not gay.
