Lyrics for Ballad of Humankindness as interpreted by papel

Ballad of Humankindness Lyrics
well i thought that
we all cared about peace
and i thought that
we'd all cry about love and loss
and i thought that
we were somehow holding on
but i'm just standing here

no one should have to
live all of their life on their own
no one should have to
live all of their life on the

every time i think about
what i can do
it just slips away
and every time i think that
we can make things work
well it just slips away
and i turn on the news
and there's always some dude
who's relentlessly bringing me down
telling me how
there are too many
dark people out there
who'll never be found
well

no one should have to
live all of their life on their own
no one should have to
live all of their life on their own
no one should have to
live that sort of life and i
think it's time that
we all learned forgiveness

and i can't believe the
vast amounts of people
living on the streets
and i can't believe that
i was almost one of them
and i almost died
and i can't believe that
i haven't lifted a hand
and i'm just standing here
well i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change
i'm gonna change

no one should have to
live all of their life on their own
no one should have to
live all of their life on their own
no one should have to
live all of their life on their own
no one should have to
live all of their life on their own

the second chorus is wrong

*instead of:
no one should have to
live all of their life on their own

it should be:
no one should have to
live all of their life on the run

that way, the last line of the second chorus would make sense: "...and i think it's time that we all learned forgiveness"

i think the "staus" of the dears will always be "underground." they're an amazing outfit. but they aren't signed on a major label. so the odds of some big music producer just picking up their record is slim. i love this song. the new album is amazing. more...down to earth than no cities left and end of a hollywood bedtime story. if any of you have nor the dahlias/ you know that thats their "early stuff" its amazing. and the new album has that same feel. great guitar and wailing vocals....."im gonna change im gonna change im gonna change!!" perfect song!
