I could go back to every laugh
But I don't wanna go there anymore
And I know all the steps up to your door
But I don't wanna go there anymore

Talk to the wind
Talk to the sky
Talk to the man with the reasons why
And let me know what you find

I'll leave my window open
Cause I'm too tired tonight
To call your name
Just know I'm right here hoping
That you'll come in with the rain

I could stand up and sing you a song
But I don't wanna have to go that far
And I, I've got you down
I know you by heart
And you don't even know where I start

Talk to yourself
Talk to the tears
Talk to the man who put you here
And don't wait for the sky to clear

I'll leave my window open
Cause I'm too tired tonight
To call your name
Just know I'm right here hoping
That you'll come in with the rain

I've watched you so long
Screamed your name
I don't know what else I can say

But I'll leave my window open
Cause I'm too tired tonight
For all these games
Just know I'm right here hoping
That you'll come in with the rain

I could go back to every laugh
But I don't wanna go there anymore

General Comment:the girl here, though hoping, no longer wants to "push things her way."
She hopes that if they are really meant for each other, then God would talk to the guy and make him move this time.

My Interpretation:For me, its like the girl here is saying that she doesnt want to "take things into her hand" anymore.
Although she CAN make a move but she chose not to this time.
Its hard for her but she just want to see if God is really in their relationship and/or are they really meant for each other.
She's waiting for the guy's move. She's hoping He will. She's hoping that in their "quiet times" during their moment of "separation" the guy would think things and that God would speak/reveal things to Him.
And depending on the guy's move the girl will see/realize what God had told him.
Seems like their relationship had been through a rough times already even before their "informal breakup".
things got piled up and so the girl was like fed up of fixing things or taking thing into her hand.
Thas why this time, she wants to be "hands-off" of the matter, to just keep ong praying what's best for their relationship. She's in the point of letting go and letting God move this time TROUGH the guy.

Song Meaning:This song is about a girl who is sick of all of her boyfriends drama and is tired of getting let down every time she has her hopes up. She just wants him to put forth the effort in the relationship now and so she is giving up trying but her window will always be open whenever he needs her or wants to be with her. I'm in a relationship like that right now...

Song Meaning:I think this song is about a relationship that the boy ended, saying he needed some time to think, and figure things out. She is saying she's gonna back off, and give him the time, because he has hurt her, but maybe because he is hurt by something in his past, and he needs time to figure it out. She's not going to try to chase after him anymore, but simply be there for him if he needs her, leaving the 'Window open". However, she really cares about him and wants him to come back to her soon.

"I'll leave my window open, cause I'm too tired tonight to call your name. Just know I'm right here hoping that you'll come in with the rain."

Although she cares deeply about him, she doesn't want to try too hard, and she wants to let him come to her after he has had his time to think.

"Talk to the wind, talk to the sky, talk to the man with the reasons why, and let me know what you find."

This shows he needs time, and he's thinking, and talking to God to try and figure things out, and she hopes that when he does figure things out, he'll come back and 'let her know what he finds'. However, she doesn't want him be gone too long, because she's scared she'll lose him for good.

"Talk to yourself, talk to the tears, talk to the man who put you here, but don't wait for the sky to clear."

He has obviously hurt her, but he is also hurt, possibly by a past love that has left him scarred. So 'talking to the tears' is thinking about how he is hurt, but also how he has hurt her. She doesn't want him to 'wait for the sky to clear' because she thinks she can help him get over his past and what has hurt him, and if he waits for everything to be perfect before he comes back, he may never come back.

General Comment:I think this song is about a girl who holds deep affections for a boy very much, but the boy doesn't feel the same way about her. She tries to do everything to try to please him, to try and get him to feel the same way. But the boy isn't innocent at all. The girl likes him so much that she finds out all the things he likes and tries to please him, hence, "steps to your door". HE knows exactly how she feels for him, and yet, he plays with her, and gives her ideas that they could truly be together. So as he leads her on, she falls more and more in love with him, but when she realises what he was doing all along, she becomes miserable. It could have gone two ways, either she says goodbye to him, or he leaves. Either way, the result becomes that she's not ready to let go, even thought she knows hes no good for her. So she keeps hoping that one day he'd be hers hence "come in with the rain".

General Comment:I don't see this as so much of a breakup song, but maybe a song that's meant to say, "I'm done trying, but if you show up, I'm here." Alternatively, she could also mean, "you'll notice how much you miss me now that I'm leaving."

I think the "Talk to the wind, talk to the sky" lines are about someone who expects you to always be there for them, and don't return the favor. They take her as a sort of therapist, and tell her everything, but don't bother to ask about her. This might be shown in the lines, "I've got you down/I know you by heart/ and you don't even know where I start" lines. She knows him by heart because she's listened to him all this time, but she's done doing it because he doesn't care about her anyway, so he can "talk to the sky", meaning that if he wants someone who'll listen and ask nothing back, he can talk to God, which, really, is a funny comment on religion IMO.

General Comment:To me its an acceptance of reality, she admits the 'guy' is perhaps no longer interested or making the effort he should yet the lyrics are also an admission of what she feels for him. Its almost as if shes been through too much to give up yet she cant or isnt willing to try and salvage things herself anymore. But its also obvious, regardless of whats happened if he changes his mind she will be there waiting.
i think all of us can relate to this on some level, theres always that one person
    love this song
