Mother, where are you today?
You took a piece of me the day you went away
No recollection or the smell of your perfume
I took a piece of you the day I left the womb
(The day I left the womb)

Brother, put your needles down
The best thing for you is to leave this awful town
Pretty soon you'll have kids to feed
If you see mother, tell her I can sing

Please don't worry I am doing fine
You're much too busy to even find the time
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave
The boys you left are men you didn't raise

And daddy, how are you today?
You must be proud of the boys that you have raised
Your withered heart, and everything its seen
Your cuts and calluses; you had kids to feed
(You had kids to feed)

Please don't worry I am doing fine
You're much too busy to even find the time
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave
The boys you left are men you didn't raise

General Comment:This song seems like it's from personal experience and about some of the hardships the writer/singer went through. ex: his mother leaving, his brother on drugs, and his dad having to raise them on his own. It's a message to his mother who abandoned them, telling her you had a responsibility and you walked out on your family, we're fine though. Dad raised us into the men you couldn't.

General Comment:It's either "I did say" or "I can say". "I can sing" makes so sense to what the chorus means. He's telling his brother and father that if they see his mom to tell her that he doesn't forgive her for leaving the family. And even if she did care about him, it's too late because she wasn't there when they needed her.

My Opinion:I really love this song. :D
This really shows how amazing Escape The Fate is vocally. It's so emotional and deep.
I can't really relate completely, but a few of the situations were somewhat similar of what I went through and what Ronnie went through.
My mother didn't leave, but my father did die when I was really young. And since then, I've been through a lot of shit.
So, this song is kind of Ronnie's way of saying that he's okay. And I'm in the process of writing a song to let the world know that I, too, am okay.

Memory:this just reminds me of my mother
    she keeps leaving
when she's not here, its complicated, its only me, father, and little bro
but when she is here..there never seems to be a good day
she broke my family..just her raising her voice makes my brother yell in fear.

General Comment:Ronnie sounds amazing in this song. But he especially made me cry when he sang "If you see mother, tell her I can sing"

General Comment:I looked up the lyrics on the bands site, and it does say "if you see mother, tell her i can sing."

I think it would make more sense if it was "tell her i can say" because the chorus is him talking to his mother. "the boys you left are men you didnt raise" proves this.

However, it does make sense both ways.

Lyric Correction:The Day I Left The Womb
    Escape The Fate:
    Mother, where are you today?
You took a piece of me the day you went away,
No recollection nor the smell of your perfume,
I took a piece of you the day I left the womb.

    Brother, put your needles down.
The best thing for you is to leave this awful town.
Pretty soon, you'll have kids to feed.
If you see mother, tell her I can sing.

    [Chorus:]
Please don't worry, I am doing fine.
You're much too busy, to even find the time,
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave,
The boys you left are men you didn't raise.

And daddy, how are you today?
You must be proud of the boys that you have raised.
Your withered heart, and everything its seen,
Your guts and calloused hands, you had kids to feed.
    You had kids to feed.

    [Chorus:]
Please don't worry, I am doing fine.
You're much too busy, to even find the time,
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave,
The boys you left are men you didn't raise.

seriously how do you get "give and go's" out of chemicals
and if u play the song in a slower speed you can also hear that ronnie sings "Your guts and calloused hands"
