Lyrics for Enterlude as interpreted by foldsbaldwin

Enterlude Lyrics
We hope you enjoy your stay
And it’s good to have you with us
Even if it’s just for the day
We hope you enjoy your stay
Outside the sun is shining
It seems like heaven ain’t far away
Its good to have you with us
Even if it’s just for the day

I think obviously it's referencing to the hotel the album's name is based after, "We hope you enjoy your stay
And it’s good to have you with us
Even if it’s just for the day"
as if the hotel's talking. But something else I noticed is that they went from, "Heaven aint close in a place like this." in STM, and in this they say, "It seems like heaven ain’t far away." There has to be a reference. This is an amazing song/intro.

Good song. Gives the album a nice personal touch. The Killers have definitely found their sound.

it's like when you watch a TV program (or a film in some cases) and they show you like a small part, then they have the opening titles.

and then with exitlude they have the closing credits, and then another song, liek a wee snip that they sometimes have at the end of programs (hollyoaks for example)

It turns out that Brandon Flowers is a mormon and they believe that God is a person somewhere. This could make sense of lyrics like 'heaven ain't far away' and 'heaven ain't close in a place like this' from Somebody Told Me, because if God is out there then presumably heaven is a place that can be found on earth.

I opened this page to say the samething as Sigmund Floyd, I was singing the enterlude and my younger brother started singing somebody told me and I was like "whoa" I just realized that the two are connected

"heaven aint far away" is like Flowers acknowledging his personal growth (the whole album is full of evidence that The Killers have evolved)....because it followed the confused phase in Hot Fuss "heaven aint close in a place like this"

and yes, Flowers is a Mormon, he did live in Nevada (also, it should be out there that so is Brendon Urie of PATD) but techincally neither practise it,they were simply raised Mormon

Could this possibly not be the Killers' lyrics and be an actual song from the casino/hotel of Sam's Town???
It is a real place, too. It is this humongous extremely nice hotel/casino/campground on the edge of Vegas on the highway heading into the city.

http://www.samstownlv.com/main.cfm is the website of the place.

http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=q0jv4y5db8yx&style=o&lvl=2&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=5086208&sp=Point.q0jxsc5db5jk_5111%20Boulder%20Hwy%2c%20Las%20Vegas%2c%20NV%2089122-6001%2c%20United%20States
is a live map picture of the place as the Killers might see it driving home on the highway. Just minimize the toolbars and stuff. You can drag around and things and turn the camera. I was extremely inspired by the thought that Brandon thinks of this as home. Go on the website for Sam's Town. The place is truly beautiful.

PS- I'm sorry if we are not allowed to post links on this site, because I didn't know. I have nothing but good intentions.

Oh, and one more thing:

They recorded the whole album in Sam's Town, the casino, on the 4th floor or something like that. They had a closed off studio there.

Just found that in an interview with Ronnie.

I think it's welcoming the listener to the CD. They're glad you're listening to it. It's a calming song, seemingly full of emotion and gratitude. It's a "feel good song."

carrera13 : That's what I wanted to post!

It's kinda obvious, no hidden meanings for me.
