Lyrics for Lacrymosa as interpreted by Liquid-Spear-Waltz

Lacrymosa Lyrics
Out on your own
cold and alone again
can this be what you really wanted, baby?

Blame it on me
set your guilt free
nothing can hold you back now

Now that you're gone
I feel like myself again
grieving the things I can't repair and willing ...

to let you blame it on me
and set your guilt free
I don't want to hold you back now love

I can't change who I am
not this time, I wont lie to keep you near me
and in this short life, there's no time to waste on giving up
my love wasn't enough

and you can blame it on me
just set your guilt free, honey
I don't want to hold you back now love

Woooow! I have only listened to the preview, but I liked the lyrics, and if they're correct, then I think the music will be even better! I can't wait for October 3rd! I think what Amy means by the lyrics is that she's in a relationship with a guy and she wants her to change, and although he offers her love, it isn't enough..
"I can't change who I am
not this time, I wont lie to keep you near me
and in this short life, there's no time to waste on giving up
my love wasn't enough"
And she has decided that this is it.
Really cool lyrics!

Yeah the lyrics are correct, the album leaked on the fourth. There's speculation it was about Ben's departure.

I didn't get it 'til the fifth, because I'm a loser =].

Sounds like a fairly regretless song, to me. He left, and she's done caring. She's done trying to fix things. So yeah, I can see where this applies to Ben...

I really think the instrumentation could have held a lot more emotion on this song... The preview was amazing, it really psyched me up for the album. The full version isn't bad, it just feels empty, somehow. I guess that sort of fits the lyrics... Makes it sound like Amy's still trying to convince herself that's how she feels, though.

It's not part of Anything For You. It's actually part of a Mozart song I think, I'm pretty sure it's part of his requiem. There are just parts of that song in this song and Anything For You. Anyways, I love this song, the mix of classical and rock really works. I think this song is about a woman who's husband/lover left her... It's fairly straight-forward.

Yeah the background music sung by the choir is by mozart, Lacrimosa. I don't know why they spelt it with a y. Maybe it's more gawth.

Of course, it's to make it more gawth.

At the very least this song is pretty good. The album's as bad as I imagined it, but this sole song is pretty good.

This song is good but I don't really care for it.
The others songs on the album is more better.

Does anyone else think this song could be about Ben Moody?

Ignore that, I didn't read everyone's comments fully before I commented.

I haven't heard the full version yet, but when the piano first comes in (before "Blame it on me / Set your guilt free") isn't that the same melody in the song Eternal?

Because they sound verrrrry similar.

The spelling may be referring to something else, as well as the song. From what I have read on the Tool boards, lacrymosa refers to crying as a form of therapy. If that is correct, the song title itself could be a double reference, both to the classical music in the back, and to the tears she has cried.

I agree, the lyrics are pretty straight forward and obvuoisly are abour Ben. In fact, all the lyrics on this album are blunt and it's quite obvious who she is talking about in her songs. I love this what I call "New" Amy sound. Her and Terry make an excellent writing team.

Wannabe Ben is evident in this one...I think it has to be about Ben, because they were thinking about him all throughout the writing. They were knowing how much they needed him.

FYI:

lacrymosa, or lachrymosa means mourning
and is spelled with a "y"
it is NOT to make t more "gawth"

Mozart's lacrimosa is the latin form of lacrimoso which means "a mournful or pathetic movement or style"

ANYWAY
this is one of my favorite songs on the new album
for the strings and choir
it's very mystical sounding

i'm not a fan of any of amy lee's work, and i've only found this by accident while looking for the regina spektor song Lacrimosa.

having just heard this song, and not being a big fan of any of her prior work i have to say that these lyrics seem really trite and a little silly. it just seems like she's not really trying. you could PAY someone to do better than this, and that's a little sad.

maybe they spelt it with a "y" because of the music rights...just a shot in the dark

I f'ing love this song though...could be about Ben could be about shaun...or any number of things either way i love it. i think the meaning is self explainitory...no cryptic message in this one

Well, about Ben or not, she calls the 2nd person "honey" and "love", and she also does that on "The Last Song I'm Wasting On You". --> They're defnintely about the same person. I think it is about Ben, but of course, I could be wrong.

Regardless of who it is about, it seems like it's about two people who split up b/c they felt pressured by each other, and the 1st person says that she is glad that the 2nd person is away although she might still have some feelings left for him. It could also be saecastic. But I don't really think so.

The song didn't impress me too much when I first heard it cuz I was expecting better, but now I think it's one of the greater songs on this album. They did a quite decent job on blending their own sound with Mozart.

ok I may sound a bit odd, but the choir part in this song reminds me a bit of the choir part in The Lion King, where Mufasa dies. Just a thought. I love the song, but i just had to put my two cents in.

I love Amy's voice, the choir, and the instruments on this song...just not so much the lyrics. The ending for this song is amazing. This is probably one of my favorite songs on the cd.
