Sheena is a champion of self-reliance As soon as she needs it she knows just where the knife is Her fingers aren't so fast anymore It's been 29 years since she came to these shores Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Send her back to the sea, they cried But Sheena spat bile 'til they let her lie She claims she's working for the Lord But you know what she's looking for Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Sheena's ambition sneers at your routine And behind that glass she sits, cold If Sheena was buried, no one would care She hates everyone, she knows no one Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Sheena is a parasite Send her back across the sea Back across the sea

My Interpretation:I think it's about modern American punk, and how no one seems to appreciate it as much as they used to (hence the lines 'send her back across the sea' and 'if she was buried, no one would care'). Sheena was obviously from the Ramones song, and the Ramones were one of the greatest triumphs in American punk rock history.

Anyway, that's what I get from it. Cool song.

General Comment:The Ramones Sheena Is A Punk Rocker came out in 1977, Sheena Is A Parasite came out in 2006 the gap between them is 29 years. It could be a response to American music, or specifically American punk music.

    General Comment:Oh how scary.
The song that is playing at this very moment is 'Sheena is a parasite.'
So, you say, Sheena is referring to Punk?
And The Horrors are saying Punk is a parasite.
Or Punk is just plain horrid and annoying?
    Or amiwrong?
Which I am 99% of the time.

General Comment:vongrimm IS right. but i think in his quotes, faris was being a little gentle. i think it is a direct attack on the ramones, and i think it's quite brave really. the ramones never had much of anything special, really, and for an up and coming band to lash out in such a way is brilliant.

General Comment:vongrimm is completely right (btw shame josh changed his name von grimm is cooler than third, but who questions the master?) Faris has said many times this completes the Sheena trilogy. A great comment on modern punk.

General Comment:It sounds like an attack on The Ramones or rather superficial Ramones fans that claim they invented punk. How many dumb kids do you see walking around with Ramones shirts despite knowing only Blitzkrieg Bop and I Wanna be Sedated. Sheena isn't a punk rocker she is a parasite, what shes looking for is money.
