Meaning is pree simple, There's this person special he loves, & he sees something in her that he recognises in himself. Maybe loneliness, maybe struggle, maybe the fact that she's fighting against life's battles on her own, watever and he's hoping that, she'll come around and let him help her see through the highs and the lows of life together, the difficulties and the good stuff that life throws at them.
The part about loseing a war by myself gets me every time.
It's talking about a girl who is going through a really hard time in her life. He has been through hard times too and wants her to know that he is there for her, come Hell or High Water.
