Lyrics for Ring the Alarm as interpreted by radio_cure

Ring the Alarm Lyrics
Ring the alarm
I been through this too long
But I'll be damned if I see another chick on your arm
Won't you ring the alarm?
I been through this too long
But I'll be damned if I see another chick on your arm

She go be rockin' chinchilla coats
If I let you go
Getting the house off coast
If I let you go
She gon' take everything I own
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if I let you go
She gon' rock them VVS stones
If I let you go
Couped in the 'bach or the Rolls
If I let you go
She gon' profit everything I taught
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if let you go

Tell me how should I feel
When I know what I know,
And my female intuition
Telling me you a dog?
People told me 'bout the flames
I couldn't see through the smoke
When I need answers, accusations
What you mean you gone choke?

You can't stay, you gotta go.
Ain't no other chicks Spending your dough
This is taking a toll, the way the story unfolds
Not the picture perfect movie everyone would've saw

She go be rockin' chinchilla coats
If I let you go
Getting the house off coast
If I let you go
She gon' take everything I own
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if I let you go
She gon' rock them VVS stones
If I let you go
Couped in the 'bach or the Rolls
If I let you go
She gon' profit everything I taught
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if let you go

Ring the alarm
I been through this too long
But I'll be damned if I see another chick on your arm
Won't you ring the alarm?
I been through this too long
But I'll be damned if I see another chick on your arm

Tell me how should I feel
When you made me belong
And the thought of you just touching her
Is what I hate most?
I don't want you but I want it
And I can't let it go
To know you give it to her like you gave it to me, come on

He's so arrogant and bold
She gon' love that shit, I know
I done put in a call, time to ring the alarm
'Cause you ain't never seen a fire like the one I'ma 'cause

She go be rockin' chinchilla coats
If I let you go
Getting the house off coast
If I let you go
She gon' take everything I own
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if I let you go
She gon' rock them VVS stones
If I let you go
Couped in the 'bach or the Rolls
If I let you go
She gon' profit everything I taught
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if let you go

How can you look at me
And not see all the things that I kept only just for you?
Why would you risk it baby? Is that the price that I pay?
But this is my show and I won't let you go
All has been paid for, and it's mine
How could you look at me
And not see all the things?
She go be rockin' chinchilla coats
If I let you go
Getting the house off coast
If I let you go
She gon' take everything I own
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if I let you go
She gon' rock them VVS stones
If I let you go
Couped in the 'bach or the Rolls
If I let you go
She gon' profit everything I taught
If I let you go
I can't let you go
Damn, if let you go

I may be reading into this too much, but I think this is from the point of view of a married woman whos husband is cheating on her. Furious, and not loving him anymore, she wants to divorce him, but they have a prenuptial agreement, so instead, she decides to kill him, daring him to "ring the alarm" in that mocking way that black women have sometimes (believe me, I know). The bridge is her moment of plea, before she remembers what she was going to do.

Angry black woman meets Fatal Attraction. Excellent, in my opinion.

Oh, and I just have to add that the "When I need answered accusations, what you mean you gon' choke?" part is indicative of that while she's questioning him, her hand is apparently gripping his neck.

...

VERY, VERY GOOD LINE.

I totally agree with Ian-sama. She has compeltely lost it and wants to kill him. Hence the "ring the alarm" and the police.

The red lipstick at the end was cool to, although I didn't get it?

Wow.
This song is pretty much horrible.
Beyonce is such a hypocrite.
FIRST she talks about how 'INDEPENDENT' She is and how she'll never need a man EVER.
Then she goes solo and decided all of a sudden that she's 'MADLY INLOVE' Even though her and Jay-Z weren't even together then.
And NOW she's writing songs about her husband cheating on her and she's going to kill him. WOW, What happened to her being such a big christian? Hmm Well that video for 'Check Up On It' That was the sluttiest thing I've seen from her. AND
She looks HORRIBLE in this video. HORRIBLE. With that pony tail ontop of her head and she's not wearing any make-up in one scene. You know 79% of people PREFER her with Makeup.

Yeah BEYONCE has let herself go, And she is getting pretyt fat and old. Get over her music is bad. AND I PERSONALLY HATED De Javu.
AS WELL You're an idiot up there, Rihanna And Jay-z were never together.

fallingxfast what is your problem? Beyonce looks gorgeous with makeup. You're ignorant and you don't know what you're talking about. She's not a hypocrite she's had a failed relationship? So what? Who the heck cares? You don't know what you're saying here.

Has anybody noticed dat evea since Beyonce started datin Jay Z that her songs and music videos have been gettin sorta violent. I mean Deja Vu, all she did was jerk round and in this one all she does is thrash round(in the music videos at least). There's no musical talent in screamin and spazzin out.

this song is great, i really like the agression and i feel like she's just a strong woman trying to break free from bullshit, but her weak side is taking over.....and it sucks....still a good song though

I'm not a fan of beyonce or her music but i wanted to say this in regards to your comment, nobody shoots a video without putting makeup on. on that particular scene, its something called "the natural look" which was hot by the way. she looked sexy. and it was the best scene for me on that video.
makeup for people like u is smokey eyes and red lips..eh..

It's typical pop music (engineered to be catchy and sell) but the agression attitude is different and interesting from her. I definitely like it better than her other singles. As far as the meaning goes there's not much beyond what you read...nothing to read into, really.

I am a crazy beyonce fan, but it seems (at least media wise) that jay has changed her. i'm not hating just posting a comment. she is "B" not beyonce, she talks about being hood, and it seems like she wants to be ghetto-fab. why? i would give all my yrs growing up in the hood just to enjoy one day of hers. im a product of what she "talks" about shooting to become better.

this song is about Jay-z and rihanna.- And the thought of you just touching her Is what I hate most?- To know you give it to her like you gave it to me, come on
apparently beyonce is not happy about how close jay-z and rihanna have become lately, and recently went mad when the two were caught at a baseball game together.(He's so arrogant and bold She gon' love that shit, I know- sounds like jay-z alright!)

on the video when she says 'Not the picture perfect movie everyone would've saw' she does the 'roc' symbol with her hands, its subtle but noticeable, and its jay-z's trademark. they have also tried very hard to be seen as the perfect black professional couple, and beyonce is implying its all a scam, but she's worked too hard on this image and her position just to jack it all in and leave rihanna to step in and profit from all her hard work. but she may drag his name through the mud and the media if pushed:

'I done put in a call, time to ring the alarm
'Cause you ain't never seen a fire like the one I'ma 'cause!' is ringing the alarm like blowing the whistle? ;)

btw, she doesn't literally mean she is gonna choke him, 'choke' is rap lingo for being to nervous to say anything (see 8 mile when 'rabbit' is unable to rap.)ie when she asks jay-z about his infidelities, he can't come up with an answer.
