His voice is so beautiful in that part, and also at the end when he says "Would you have the guts to say..." slower and more instense...my god it gives me the shivers. Simply amazing.

I THINK THIS SONG IS ABOUT TWO LOVERS WHO'S LOST THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. ONE IS LEAVING WHILE THE OTHER IS STILL AT THE HOUSE THEY LIVED TOGETHER. IT'S KIND OF LIKE A DIVORCE, YA KNOW? WHEN ONE SPOUSE LEAVES, THE OTHER IS WAITING BY THE DOOR FOR THE OTHER TO GET OUT. AND MAYBE THE PART ABOUT THE BEATING PART, SOMEONE WAS BEING ABUSED. THAT'S MY GUESS. could be metaphorical
i think its kinda some one telling their partner just to take the rap for summurt they've done (because thats the right thing to do) ( maybe cheated,) like in boxing taken a beating but not giving in-standing back up to get hit more.


when he sings this song ya can really feel the passion in his voice
its so weird.... lurve it! lol

this song means soo much ,,i think it talks about a guy who reassures himself that he doesnt love a girl anymore or maybe still does but not as much as yesterday-- i think hes thinking of saying it and so is she. --the videoo is perfect and so is the song LooVEE ITT!!!

well, i think i have a theory as to who this song is directed towards, but i'm hoping you guys wont tear me apart for it! =X

we all know bert and gerard were into drugs/alcohol, what it sounds like to me is that gerard got clean and bert didn't, and this is what happened.

we may never know. =/

yeah, i do and also i think that it was also like abducted her faith because, lets face it, no one in the world ever wants to get used. once its happened, even just a little bit, the scars emerge in forms of paranoia, commitment anxiety, and possibly over all fear. i speak on the terms that visitation is not even an option. when a bit of this happens there's no turning back

but yeahhh , i heard this song wayy before it became famous.

It's obvious about 2 people who loved eachother, but soemthing changed, thier love is differnt now, hence, 'i don't love you, like i did yesterday'
It's quite simple.

I have a little theory that something happened to Gerard Way that completely changed the original concept of this song, 'cause when he sings it on LOTMS, he sings different lyrics. Personally, i think this is about Bert and Gerard, but that's just my view.

i love this song. it has helped me so much!! i really had a bella "zombie" moment a few months ago. (for all the twilighters out there that have read new moon, you'll know what i'm talking about.) it started in december, and ended at the beginning of this month (may). this song sortta helped me climb out of my unconciousness. it has helped me so much. i can now laugh and smile and just be myself without constantly thinking about ... a certain someone. i still think of him...but thinking about him comes with a painful price. but this song has helped me, idk how, but i know that it has helped me tremendously!!!! thanks so much my chemical romance!!

I just heard this song on the radio and I didn't know that it was by them, I'm not a big fan of them but this song is pretty good, I think it's about a guy who loves a girl but he doesn't love her as much as he did yesterday.That's my guess since the name of the song is I Don't Love You Like I Did Yesterday.

Wow i wasn't sure but i liked this song when i first heard it, although it was sad and it sounded gross because i can hear him spitting every word in the lyrics... but anyways when i really started listening to the lyrics, i was getting the idea that because he didnt want her to leave, he beat her... which really sickened me and it was just too weird so i didnt listen it for a while but i really like the beat.. and not that i have come on and read about what's with song, i feel better because my send of meaning in this song wasn't what it really meant... lol but yup this is a really sad song. i wouldnt be able to look at the person singing this to me in the eyes either. sort of depressing, but definitely a nice song with great instrumentals! :D

ok well personally i think this song is about how a guy who is into drugs and grang realations, and his signifigant other is getting hurt by all the people he deals with. whe it says "when they knock you
Down and out Is where you oughta stay" its saying that the guys sees his lover being beaten by the people he deals with, he wishes she would just stay knocked out to prevent her from doing the drugs or getting beaten ever more. the whole "i dont love you like i loved you yesterday" thing is about how he wants his lover to leave because he cant look at her being hurt anymore and he wants his lover to leave because he cares more about her than the pain he would endoure when she leave, he just wants his lover to not say they dont love him because he knos that she really does.

that is kinda confusing but thats what i think.
its a great song no matter what it really means.

This song means a lot to me. Of course it's Gearard but I wanna go into the Patient's story as I've been doing on all the songs.

I felt like this is another flashback where it takes an overall look at the relationship he had with his significant other. The ups and mostly the downs. It was an abusive relationship, but not in the physical terms, more of a he was a fucked up drug abuser and she couldn't take it anymore kinda way. I feel like he mentions the beating and the boxing gloves in the book to get the abusive part across, but it's not physical in my eyes. And I like to think of it mostly from her perspective, talking about his lousy characteristics and how he probably couldn't even tell her he didnt love her anymore if he didn't. That he's probably not man enough to say it. I see it as a confusion, that they're over just because he didn't communicate well enough due to the fact he hid so much within and used drugs.

Just the way I see it.

i agree with liveurlife4him7. i think the whole albums about him cleaning up and the band changing as a whole. i think the end was almost the last song my chemical romance did and right at the end when dead! starts, thats when its over and the black parade takes over. im not saying my chemical romance is over, i just think its less that theyre over and more that theyve changed for good

For me, what the song means is that the guy is letting the girl go. He somewhat feels that the girl doesn't love her as much anymore, so he decides to let the girl go even if it's hurting him. I think that other people thinks that it was the other way around. Like I hear my friends say that the guy is singing to the girl how HE doesnt love her anymore, while I think it is the other way around. The guy is actually singing (in the chorus), that if the girl even has the guts to say that he doesnt love him anymore.

The lines:
"So take your gloves and get out
Better get out
While you can"
-->refers to the fact that the guy is letting the girl, giving her a chance, while he still can bear the pain.

The chorus:
When you go
Would you even turn to say
"I don't love you
Like I did
Yesterday"
--->the lines actually says that the guy is asking the girl if she still has the guts to admit that he doesnt love the guy anymore, or at least even as much as before.

Great song.

i think this song means...

well that no matter what happens and if time or feelings do them part, feelings will linger, pain will thrive, he'll try to let her go but if she goes... just that she will be honest, and just tell him "i dont love you, like i used to yesterday". and if she leaves, its because her love has faded and not to just leave him high and dry.

(maybe im just comparing it to what happened to me this month and im still not over it)
