Turn away
If you could get me a drink, of water
'cause my lips are chapped and faded
call my aunt marie
help her gather all my things
and bury me in all my favorite colors
my sisters and my brothers still
I will not kiss you
'cause the hardest part of this
is leaving you

Now turn away
'cause i'm awful just to see
'cause all my hairs abandoned all my body
oh my agony
know that i will never marry
baby i'm just soggy from the chemo
but counting down the days to go
It just ain't living
And I just hope you know
that if you say
goodbye today
I'd ask you to be true
'cause the hardest part of this is leaving you
'cause the hardest part of this is leaving you

Memory:This song makes me cry everytime I listen to it...Its so emotional and beautiful especially if cancer has affected your life the memories that come with this song touch me...and even though the lyrics ae sad it reminds me of how strong the person close to me was when they had cancer...I wonder though if this song has been written for anyone...

General Comment:I listened to a commentary by the band about this song. This is an in-your-face, burn it to the ground song about CANCER. Cancer affects 1 in 3 people, either to you or a loved one. I am still surprised when I cry every time I hear it, and I haven't experienced that emotional pain like I read in some other posts on the site. This is a POWERFUL song, as powerful as any edgy, hardcore punk tune. There's anger, remorse, regret, and just overwhelming sadness in this song. I have never in my life experienced such a song that causes such emotion in me.
