sorry for the double post, but anyway i've came to a half assed conclusion here...i hate to sound so narrow minded as to assume this song is about religion (because every song seems to be perceived as a song about religion, drugs/alcohol, or politics) but it seems to be a song about religion. or maybe something with suicide even, i dont know, just trying to think outside the box

This song is pretty good but i dont really like the guitar in it seems kinda too catchy if you know what i mean, but dont get me wrong this is still a kick ass song. I still dont think LOG can out do Ashes Of The Wake though i mean its like the best album ever in my opinion. who here fuckin loves the song Descending???

I think I undersatand what you are saying about this song and its guitar, its not that its to catchy, it may be vary close to something alse we have heard in the past, or maybe too infuenced sounding, people have said that sacrament does have a pantara feel too in.

whats wrong with a song being catchy? i mean, would you rather songs not get stuck in your head and have a great sound? its a kick ass song, its got very good content, its a great song. i love the HELL NO speech because randy sounds fucking insane during it. i also like the "sanctity a breath a WAAAAAAAAY' part, it fucking rules. sacrament fucking rules, FUCK THE HATERS

nevermind on me saying the song is too catchy ... what i meant to say is that the guitars are a little less heavy and kinda less powerful but still dont get me wrong this song is still fuckin amazing , especially the end where Randy sounds like fuckin Martin Luther King or some kind of preacher of a cause its awsome!

well when you have listened to the latest albums by them and you kind of start to get tired of them (which takes a really long time trust me, I fall asleep to then at night, no joke), its kind of nice to go to the roots of them, BTP, which I like just as much

The opening is very "Opethesque". Best song on the album in my opinion.

Sounds like a very nihilistic take on humanity. He's fed up with it, says it's too late to change and might as well make things worse.

this song, like every song on the new album, rocks the fuck out of me. its amazing, i especially love how at the end the people ask, can we be saved etc and the answer is hell no its too late.. gotta love this song. lamb of god.. just amazes me..

This song is truely about suicide, and how according to christianity, suicide is a one way trip to hell.

Also, "Sanctity is just a breath away" reminds me of suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.

yeah i pretty much LOVE thing song, it gets me so fucking pumped up everytime i hear it. the first time i heard it was on a bus and i was ready to like punch the girl infront of me in the back of the head for no reason other than that this song kicked me in the teeth and told me to fight!

I think that at first is has a depression theme to it, and then it shifts into a religious type deal

"Better to die quick, fighting on your feet, then to live forever, begging on your knees."

It's saying that its better to be your own person, and not be controlled by anyone and die and have that be it (no heaven or hell), then to live forever i heaven or whatever, being a servant to a God. Really cool line.

Is it just me, or is the part at the end of the song the heaviest part ever? SO awesome

definetly suicide, in my eyes i see this song as a cry to try to find if "god does save a place for them" for its said that suicide is the only sin without forgiveness.... or at least thats how i feel but when they come to the conclusion that there is "no hope...." A lie seems to be the only thing they find shelter in. Beliving that none of it is real and there for worth nothin in the end.... but i dont know i may just be off on glue or something... all i know is that this song's double bass owns ur ass!!!
